If you need a cheque cashed and you haven't got a bank account, this is the place to go. I didn't think there would be much call for this kind of business but it's actually quite busy. It's a lot of hassle and the commission you end up paying is horrendous, but I suppose if you've got no choice, you just have to like it or lump it. (For a £20 birthday cheque made out to a child with no bank account, I ended up getting back about £12.50, once the join up fee and commission was paid.) The staff aren't particularly friendly either.
