I've had many good meals at other branches of Pizza Express but the Prior Meadow Hastings branch is, in my experience, appalling. I've had a couple of poor meals eating in, and given it another chance. We've had overpriced and poor quality meals delivered. I would've given up completely but my daughter likes pizza. She's vegan gluten free and they claim to cater for her. I'm vegetarian. Tonight really took the biscuit. We ordered 7 items. After waiting 45 minutes or so we got a call saying we couldn't have mac-cheese because they ran out of cheese. That was 6pm on Monday 23 December. So we swopped it for another dish they recommended ... with cheese! Then when the food arrived we received 4 of 7 items. Much time trying to call Pizza Express and getting voicemail, and chat with Deliveroo. Then we received another call, this time from a guy at Pizza Express (first call was female). The guy didn't seem to understand that halloumi wasn't vegan. Then suggested chicken as an alternative because the items we'd originally ordered were no longer available! My daughter patiently agreed a couple of alternatives. But at least the festive sprouts were still available. However another hour passed and another delivery. Except the sprouts that arrived were actually chicken drumsticks! Really not an easy mistake to make. I tried calling back many times but instead of going to voicemail this time the calls were immediately cut. I honestly believe this was deliberate. I do hope that the manager checks the rota for Monday 23 December, 7-8pm, and takes this up with whoever is responsible. He does not belong in the catering industry. We will never use this Pizza Express again, and I'll be sharing that with everyone I know. This guy is in the wrong job!

Popped in for a meal with the family and grandchildren before going to the cinema. Nice food, service was good. Children had colouring pens and picture sheets given to keep them entertained. Nice lighting.

We dined at Pizza Express as we get 25% off our pizza bill by being Odeon Cinema Limitless Members. So, not only did we get an encouraging discount, we thoroughly enjoyed our experience, the food and wine were delicious and with warm service. Thank you.

Myself and my partner came here today for what we thought would be a nice lunch but instead received undercooked pizza and cold dough balls. And due to this having an upset stomach ? would not recommend

Went to pizza express Hastings last night. We ordered four basic pizzas and over an hour later we were told they would be with us in ten minutes . I dared question why it took so long only to be told by a rude member of staff ( I think she was the manager) but not sure can't you see how busy we are , when in all honesty the restaurant was about half full . We asked for the bill and left . No gesture of goodwill was offered . Really bad experience and I won?t be going back .

Booked at table for 6pm..had to move table to small ..2nd table air conditioning was blowing out freezing cold had to move again..slow to take drink and food order..they forgot first round of drinks..and also the 2nd drink.which to be fair was then free..waited 50 mins for food ..only a main ..no one asked if food was ok. If we wanted any more drinks..cleared table and didnt offer us a dessert menu. Resturant wasn't busy so god knows what it's like when it is. Shocking service.

Absolute awful service, Made the manager (assuming she was) aware that we wanted to sit outside got handed the menus and was told someone will be with us shortly 30 minutes went by still haven't placed an order walked in and said we want to order food whilst the manager was just standing there and was told the waiter will be out in a minute. Order placed along with drinks another 30 minutes went by and still no drink in sight had enough of waiting as my new born started to stir was hoping for some food before she needed to be fed walked in and said we haven't had any drinks that wee ordered 30 mins ago and to not bother bringing the food out as we were going elsewhere. Also like to mention that there was about 5 tables of people sitting Including myself so they weren't exactly busy, one and only time I bother. Didn't even get an apology off the waiter or the manager disgusting service! Would not recommend this place to anyone!!

Ordered two pizzas from Pizza Express as my usual place is currently on holiday. Who knows what is going on...pizzas chewy....poor levels of toppings with big noticeable gaps...cheese non existent.....dough just bland. Not properly cut up and then placed on the most odd cardboard logo thing underneath so clearly then hard to recut at home. Redesigning the pizza box? Talk about excessive and useless packaging....you're not getting the basics right but packaging you are focusing on.....and very expensive for the mess that it was. Dough balls cold and I'm literally 5mins walk away. So many have closed and I wouldn't be back unless they change a lot. Delivered on time at least....

Came for my birthday with my husband and daughter whilst visiting Hastings for the week. The service was incredible, we both ordered new starters that had only just come on the menu, the chef delivered them to our table and said it was his first time making them and they were cooked fantastically.
The waitress (manager?) was lovely and really accommodating to a 2 year old during lunch service.
Would definitely recommend and come back!

A disappointing experience: although we had a nice waiter it took a very long time for the food to arrive. The pizza I ordered with anchovies for £2.50 contained 3 barely distinguishable pieces of anchovies. My table companion's food was also bad: the pasta was in a very watery tomato sauce. Still, we spent £41 including 2 drinks. Never again in this bad pizzeria.
