I live not far from Asda, so basically been shopping there since its arrival on Battle Road.? I have nothing but praise for the members of staff who work there EXSPECIALLY Oliver who knows my Nephew Paulie ? always willing to help old Auntie T find the cake isle ?and of course the Mangement who do so much to support Youths in our community who may at times in life struggle to get jobs. ?

I went to the photo booth to take a passport photo, but unfortunately, the monitor has not been working for several years, and they charged me 13 pounds and gave me some low-quality photos.

This shop has steadily deteriorated since COVID-19; you will not see smiling, helpful staff members (who are poorly educated and self-opinionated and wouldn't last 5 minutes at a Sainsbury's or Tesco). The shelves are often not stacked, and their prices are not very good. I now avoid this place.

Today I had a full trolley of shopping. I asked if a till could be opened, but the staff member informed me it was self-checkout only. Unfortunately, the self-checkout process was fraught with issues. Every few minutes, there was a problem that required the staff member to enter a code, significantly delaying the scanning of my shopping. Moreover, when it came time to pay with cash, the machine wouldn't accept my notes. A staff member had to manually process each note, further extending the time of my shopping trip. This made the entire experience extremely slow and frustrating. It's worth noting that there were four staff members present in the self-checkout area. One of them could have easily opened a till, especially since there were several other customers with large trolleys of shopping. While I understand that keeping the tills closed is a management decision, I strongly suggest reviewing this policy, particularly on busy days like Saturday. It is not acceptable to have no tills open when the store is busy.Based on my experience, I wouldn't recommend this Asda for a big shopping trip. It's only suitable if you have a single basket of items.

I shopped at this ASDA in the 9pm hour on Easter Monday. I don't normally go shopping at Easter, but the date was 01.4.24, so I had to!As I had a trolley full of shopping, I asked if a till checkout could be opened as I had too much to self-checkout. The staff member refused my request as she said it's a "Bank Holiday" (Easter) and they haven't got enough staff! (Maybe get the Indian boys who now own ASDA to man the checkouts?).What happened was chaotic. Me and others, with far too much shopping for the self checkout kept doing the wrong thing and the two staff 'policing' the self checkouts were run off their feet trying to help people. I dare say there was some unintentional (and intentional) shoplifting taking place. It was near the end of a long day for the staff, so they were probably too tired to care what customers were doing.I think it would've been better to have closed the self checkouts (except for ten items or less) and put those two on the tills. One of the worst experiences I've had in 46 years of shopping as various ASDA's.I gave two stars rather than one, because its a big ASDA with an upstairs and a downstairs. Also, ASDA have stopped using the excellent format they had on receipts, with barcode number included, which made checking shopping easy. I guess it was a WalMart format that ASDA aren't allowed to use anymore? (See photo's).

Today we used the trolley self checking counter. The machine was not working properly. It took us nearly 20 minutes to check half a trolley of goods. It stopped every 3 or 4 items to be reset by the attendant.Very annoying and nerve racking for two old pensioners. It is the last time we will use that. Must of the other costumers seem to have the same problem. Please fix this soon since you have reduced the normal checkouts. Thank you for listening.FG.

Tubby female security gaurd with clapped trim questioned my intelligence in a rude way when I was unsure of the way the exit works. The door says no exit so I tried to leave from a different way and she spoke in an unpleasant and belittling manner. It's not her place to make comments about how my brain works things out. Maybe I'm a bit slow or was tired or how about I've never been in her Asda's before and found it like the minotaur labyrinth please management tell her her to sort out her attitude.
