A.G. Henry is my go to store for household utilities in our home. I am a believer in having beautiful items to do chores with: Brushes, dish cloths, vintage pots....you name it. Yes, the price is higher than what you might find online but it is important to bear in mind that we pay for someone doing careful curation and the quality control for what we bring into our homes. Lauren is the loveliest manager and sometimes I go in when walking around town just to say hello. I don't disturb at busy times though!

The lady in the shop couldn?t have been less charming, on a Sunday visit. A question on my part was met with what I can only describe as complete disdain from her. Regrettable, as I thought the shop quite beautiful and had had an amazing time at The Christmas House, only a few streets away. Incidentally, the staff at the house were really very lovely. Would highly recommend, but a shame when the visit as a whole was marred.

It's definitely worth a visit, such a lovely store. It's full of delightful vintage products. I'm going to go back for another visit for sure!

Don't be fooled by the plain exterior, this is possibly one the most stunning shops you'll step into. Incredibly curated, expertly displayed collection of new and vintage housewares. A feast for the eyes. A must stop if you're in Old Town.

What an amazing home goods store! Housed in a fascinating old building, the range of goods is vast & the attention to detail with the presentation of items, both for sale & for display purposes, is second to none. It was a privilege to browse in such a unique store & great to be able to support a truly, unique, independent store. The cherry on the cake was the fabulous woman who took care of us (sorry - we didn't catch your name!) - chatty & friendly. We will definitely recommend & visit again when on our next visit from Hove. Thank you!

We adore this shop, like stepping back in time, and you get welcomed with an open fire when it's chilly. Interesting stock, quaint interior, a must when visiting Hastings

Absolutely marvellous shop in every way! Eccentric, eclectic, atmospheric, curious, practical, beautiful. Splendid customer service. Love it! Also just a word about the manager Lauren, who is a complete treasure. A delight to deal with, efficient and organised and bright, charming and welcoming to boot.

A very charming home goods store that sells vintage or replica vintage home wares. They specialise in old school cleaning equipment, like dusters, brooms, etc.

Impressive how they are able to make ordinary household items look special, so I complimented the owner on the curation of the store and she looked at me like I was a piece of dirt on her shoe and said nothing back. If you're in the business of retail I think you should learn some manners. Pretentious and rude. I won't be going there again.

Great shop, interesting, unusual and a great experience - having read the reviews below the lady in the shop on the Sunday we visited in March couldn?t have been more friendly and knowledgeable!

Hendy?s is an absolutely gorgeous store, half museum, half store. So many interesting things to buy and really nice staff. Loved it.

The range is so comprehensive I have never seen anything like it packed into one fairly small space. Brushes, cleaning pads, exotic-looking feather dusters of all shapes and sizes. Anything from cleaning hard-to-get-to narrow spaces, to high-hung chandeliers. There's also a huge range of enamelware and some vintage pieces, e.g. pâte moulds. If they haven't got it, you're probably not going to find it anywhere else.
