Massive garden centre, good variety but very expensive. Great pies, sausage rolls, sandwiches, quiche & pork pies!

Visited with my wife. Sally made me a lovely Mocha. Coffee Americano (No milk) my wife said it was better than usual and a full cup. Although very busy Sally made time to talk to my wife and I. Very disappointed with the cleanliness of glasses. (Photos) We always take wipes to clean cutlery and glasses. A new dish washer is needed I think. Love the app and the offers, it definitely keeps us coming back.

Garden centre is chaotic at best. Very little for gardens and pricey. Coffee at the small cafe awful. Can't speak for bigger restaurant.

I love pies! My favourite is steak and kidney. Yesterday I purchased two steak and kidney pies from the fresh food counter, which my wife and I had for dinner. The pastry had such a strong taste of butter that it was inedible. There was not a single piece of kidney in either pie, or even a flavour of kidney. The consistency of the filling was ok but there was an unpleasant, artificial taste to it. Honestly the worst meat pie I have eaten. It has certainly put me off buying any more goods from the fresh food counter.

Very good, excellent place to meet friends for lunch and wandering around the garden centre.

A wide selection of plants. This nursery does also sell a huge amount of non plant stuff, hot tubs for approx £8k, garden lighting and impressive statues from colourful parrots to a huge dragon. They do spare parts for lots of garden tools.Sometimes there are good deals on plants.

Lovely large cheerful garden centre, with a very nice coffee/restaurant. Great toilet facilities and very clean. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

I don't normally write reviews, but had to share just how amazing the afternoon tea was at the Restaurant. The whole experience oozes quality and high standards! The restaurant itself is a delight, with beautiful oak beams, comfortable seating and everything spotlessly clean. The scones were among the best I've ever eaten (super fresh and not too sweet), the clotted cream was out of this world, and the waitresses couldn't have been more helpful, polite and cheerful. Well done Tates Hassocks!

A great garden centre with the added bonus of an excellent lawnmower and gardening museum. The kids playground at the cafe is small but well maintained with good variety. Thoroughly recommend.

We were given a voucher for afternoon tea, it was wonderful. The sandwiches were fresh and delicious, so many cakes we had to bring some home, as much tea as we wanted. Very friendly helpful staff that made the experience so enjoyable. If you want to treat someone I would highly recommend, or maybe just treat yourself.

Large and somewhat scary garden centre. The ghosts here are very voracious and it is wise not to poke them. The more you explore, the less you're enticed into the world of fruit trees and water features. Rather you'll find yourself drawn into the murky underworld of the tienda de cafe de la muerto inevitable. Be warned. Drinks and snacks appear harmless but DO NOT choose anything containing raisins. Why not? They are not a recognised foodstuff and the EU are considering outlawing all dried grapes as the spawn of Satan herself. The EU are a wise and perspicacious bunch with much to applaud. I applaud you, EU, and only wish my government hadn't forsaken you so shortsightedly. Bring back the UK to the EU and away with all raisins and all their brethren, namely sultanas, currants and anything resembling raisins, sultanas and currants. We're in the 21st century now so leave the inedible stuff to its proper fate. Cheers

Very well organised with lots of stock. Disappointed that they stock parrots feather invasive pond weed. But they also stocked other native pond weed too that my newts leapt on straight away. In particular the water spearmint. Ideal sized leaves to wrap newt eggs in. I would have given 5 stars if it had not been for the invasive parrots feather.

Large garden centre. Plenty to see. The small museum is interesting. Love the bee hive. Florence in the shop was very helpful and polite. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for Sally in the restaurant. Maybe it was just a bad day but my wife was quite disappointed in the way she spoke to her. All in all a great place to visit.

Best Garden center I've ever been to! Plenty of stock. Art and craft supplies, furniture, pet supplies, books, gifts. Has a Regatta and Craghoppers outdoor clothing section. Helpful staff. Staff work really hard to keep things tidy. Plants healthy. The restaurant food is amazing. Lovely selection of cakes. Would recommend the cooked breakfast. Food comes out so quick. Tables are always clean. Seating areas indoors and outdoors. When sunny weather it's nice to sit outdoors. There is also a playground for kids. Dog friendly they supply water bowls. Garden center also sells fresh baked goods and wine in the food section. There is also an art gallery and museum section. Great day out for family or visiting alone. Peaceful atmosphere. Relaxing music is played in the store.
