Today I went with a friend to buy some things and in the door the security guard treated us like thieves. He made us open every bag and asked us if you've paid for everything. He even took my friend's arm and looked very closely to his watch. I don't understand why he did that if there is a security system and cams. Obviously It was discrimination for being foreigners. So sad that this kind of this still happen in 2023. It happened on 11/10/2023 around 3 pm. Please watch the cams and talk with that employee asap.

I like this Supermarket for its size, not too big and not too small. The fresh fruit and vegetables are limited in range but apart from that I can normally buy what I need. They also have a reasonable range of George clothing which makes them Hailshams main clothes retailer. The staff on the checkout are always friendly which I much prefer to the option of using the self scan.

I don't go very often to this store as they don't have a lot of choice with fresh vegetables and don't have many tills working and I refuse to use the self service one's as I believe they are taking jobs from people, how ever I did go after going to another shop in the town and by the time I got what I wanted and got served I ended up with a parking fine never again will I go to that store

Now operating as ASDA, following a number of previous iterations, this store has the appearances of a struggling business. Staff, when you can find them, are polite, but there appears to be a thin veil of stress in the faces of employees. Perhaps due to the decades-old layout and style of the store, accessibility can be challenging, especially upon entrance in the limited fresh version area, and particularly around the tills. And I must add that whilst my common business sense suggests ASDA is not directly responsible for the essential lift, upon which so many elderly and parents with small children rely upon to get from the garage to the shopping floor, after more than two months of the lift being inoperable, not a dicky-bird has been done to repair it. This suggests a broader problem, such as the 'men fous' attitude of management at both ASDA and the landlord, and/or perhaps a broader concern regarding the financial viability of both entities. If the downward spiral continues, residents of Hailsham may very well begin choosing to spend their money elsewhere. In such a vibrant, supportive community as Hailsham, I'm sure many continue to hope that those responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the commercial and public facilities will take action, forthwith, to remove any unintentionally lodged digits from wherever, to ensure commercial and public services thereon adequately function to support the community, rather than hinder it.Perhaps alluding to challenges such as these fit nicely into the same 'box' as to responses some of us occasionally receive when we make enquiries regarding the gaping potholes we've been pleading about during the past twelve months: "There's always hope, as long as life and breath remain."Quelle Dammage!
