Java and Jazz was always a little gem of a place, delicious fresh, high quality food, cooked to order with great presentation lots little delicious touches...clearly cooked and presented with care...and just a treat.
Sadly, things seem to have changed...our last visit for breakfast was such a disappointment...no attention to detail, dry food plonked onto a cold school dinner plate with cheap thin cutlery and clearly no love from the chef or owner, not even a smile from staff!!
Overall, no longer the lovely treat...the service, the food and the loss of any really attention to detail leaves you with the experience of a sad greasy spoon cafe. That said, the prices are still the same! Just feels like too many corners have been cut.
If you were a regular, you should remember the good times...just another cute, unique place turning into a basic experience.

Used to be amazing but seems to have gone down hill. Two pastries and a water cost £19! Service charge applied but was slow and meant to be for takeaway. Pizza yum and cheapish though!

My fav local by far!! Feels like family ?? Am there everyday for their excellent coffee (only place around u can rely on for proper coffee when everyone else shuts at 4pm). Remarkably friendly staff & owner, service oriented and welcoming.
Delicious food prepared w care, u can taste the extra quality in everything. The Pizzas and the Java chicken salad are glorious

Reviewing after a couple of visits.
Java & Jazz is a superb place for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Consistently excellent customer service. The food has lots of dietary options like Gluten free/vegan etc. High quality ingredients are used in their food and this reflected in the taste/price and is worth it.
We love sitting here out in the sun enjoying a drink/bite to eat. Will certainly be coming back again soon.
The cakes/biscuits rotate and change - there is always something good to try.
Dog friendly outside too.
Toilet is accessible and well equipped.

Stopped off for a coffee and a sausage roll during a hilly ride. Both the sausage roll and the cappuccino were amazing. The only reason there isn't a 5 star rating is because the sausage roll came in at a lofty £6.25 ? and a 12.5% service charge was added automatically.

I was with a small group who popped in for brunch. My cooked breakfast was very disappointing: bacon and sausages had clearly been on hold for a long time, they were dried out and tough. Poached eggs were overdone, more like hard boiled. Coffee and service were OK, but no-one ever asked whether we were happy with the food. We weren't.
