Really lovely pub, has a homely feel to it. The food was delicious, I had the glazed ham and my partner had the Mac and cheese and I?d recommend both. Unfortunately, was too hungry to take pictures of the meal as I pretty much inhaled it. Excellent sized portions and the food is cooked from scratch - the wait is worth it! Staff is friendly and welcoming.

Outstanding. Our welcome and service throughout was outstanding. Our waitress was brilliant, she was helpful, attentive and offered us excellent customer service. Our food was delicious & we asked for our compliments to be passed to the chef which our waitress did. We had the pie of the day & the local ham, egg and chips, all meals were delicious & every plate was clean. We sat outside as it was very warm & the owner couldn't have been more hospitable. We were greeted with a very warm welcome, an apology about the noise as the seating area across the road from the pub was being cleaned but this did not affect us at all. The outside space is very good, plenty of room between tables & some cover if you don't want to sit in the sun. We shall definitely return & will bring friends to enjoy the Wheatsheaf Inn, thank you.

We cycled down from London, searched for a place to have some dinner and drinks.

On Sunday we had 3 generations of the family to celebrate my sons 27th birthday. Booked the table initially for 7 people for roasts. I booking over the phone was a pleasure and felt I/we mattered. Arrived and were warmly welcomed at the bar before being shown to the table.
In the usual way for us we needed to add another place for dinner. This wasn?t a problem; tables were moved around to add another place.
Our roast orders were taken and later the food delivered. WOW, just WOW well presented, good size portions were delivered with sides of veg. The food was as tasty as it looked with attentive staff checking things were right and bringing drinks to the table.
Cheekily we asked for a candle in one of the deserts (not thinking this would happen). Not only did it happed but birthday music was played, and several serving members joined in with the singing.
Just sorry I?m useless and didn?t take names to individually give credit.
If you haven?t been for a meal, you must and if you have, we will see you in the pub another time.

Awful, Sunday roast with ?the family? which appeared and tasted like it was originally prepared the previous Monday and reheated every day since. A soggy and tasteless mess of an attempt of a roast.
