We are old aged pensioners and cannot eat very much so asked the miserable waiter if we could have one Cod and chips and a spare plate so we could share, his answer was no, we asked if we could have 2 childrens meals instead again the answer was no. I found the waiter very rude and unhelpful which made the atmosphere in there not great and in the end had to go along to Harry Ramsden who were happy to give us a spare plate, so we could share and very happy smiling faces there the way it should be when you serve customers

We visited Restaurant Qualisea and ordered the cod fish and chips. The fish was fresh, tasty, and perfectly cooked ? crispy on the outside and tender inside. The chips were good too, making it a satisfying meal overall. However, the service could use some improvement, as it didn?t quite match the quality of the food. With better service, this place could easily be a top choice for fish and chips.

Nice fish and chips, just a little expensive but that is a general thing now days ... certainly would recommend.

I love fish n chips, but have coeliac disease. Qualisea never lets me down, providing excellent quality gluten-free battered fish. They serve gluten free 7 days a week. Qualisea charge an extra £1 for gluten free, but I really don?t mind paying this because the service and quality of food is excellent. I?ve never been disappointed or had a bad reaction after eating here.

Gluten free when it suits them - They advertise providing gluten free fish and chips 7 days a week but we were turned away because they were ?too busy? to provide a gluten free option for one of party. I?d understand if they were unable to provide it because they?d run out of stock, but just because you?re busy is a poor excuse. Don?t advertise 7 days a week if you can?t handle serving it 7 days a week. A person can?t just stop having celiac disease because they are busy.

The Calamari was seriously good- crispy, tasty and not chewy at all! The fish was fresh and well prepared & the staff were welcoming.

Ordering on an Airshow night with caution due to thinking busy night, long ques for rushed food BUT was very pleasantly impressed. Great friendly fast service and really tasty food that was enjoyed by even my fussiest of eaters. Venue looked nice and clean and the staff all appeared to work well along side each other even under the strain of demand. Highly recommend~ be back next year ?

Fantastic service and fantastic food we thoroughly enjoyed our food here cooked fresh piping hot. The staff work so hard I felt tired just watching them very well organised spoke to the lady said she?d work there since she was a child and the shop goes back through our generations, definitely would return and definitely recommend this place.

my family and i grab qualisea takeaway all the time as it?s one of the only gluten free (halal) fish and chips places in eastbourne.
on august 16th, i took my friends and their younger sisters, since ive been before, and knew it was a good fish and chips spot.
upon arrival we were seated by our waiter (friendly old man who always seats us, no problems here). a few minutes after being seated a middle aged lady with black hair approaches us and kindly lets us know there?s no halal food over the airborne period (august 14 - august 17), since the separate fryers have to be closed due to demand (for context we were 5 visibly muslim girls).
she let us know that during this period only the jacket potato and the salad is halal (very kind of her, thank you). she then asked if we were going to stay- we said yes, we?re just going to discuss our options and let her know.
during this time 3 of the girls had gone to the toilet (there was only 1). the 2 left at the table had decided what they were ordering, and were waiting for the others to come back so we can order together.
the middle aged lady approached us again and asked if we were ordering- we said yes, but we?re waiting for the girls to come back so we can let her know. the girls took no more than 10 minutes in the toilet (they?re 3 girls, so around 3 minutes in there each). the middle aged lady came back and asked one of us at the table to go check on the girls in the toilet and tell them to come out. we did so. they came out afterward, explaining there had been a queue and that?s why they took long.
after everyone sat down and were discussing what to order, the middle aged lady came back and asked whether we were planning on getting anything. i answered honestly, and said everyone is still deciding, but we?re unsure as the kids wanted fish and chips (which we couldn?t have as they weren?t halal). she replied and said we definitely need to order something as we used the toilet, and toilets were for dine in customers only. i said no problem, ill grab a jacket potato or something since its only fair. she then walked away as we said we wanted to discuss our options one last time.
the middle aged lady then came back again and started off with an apology, (we thought it would?ve been for the persistence regarding her questioning when we?d order, what we?re ordering, and when everyone would be done with the bathroom), but instead her apology was her saying girls i?m sorry, im not picking on you (or something to that effect), but you can?t eat other establishments food in the restaurant (the girls were snacking on an open cup of dubai chocolate strawberries which we initially walked in with no problem, and was openly on the tables).
i get it, i do. but all i have to say is that there?s a way to go about things. from the get her attitude wasn?t great, and her demeanour was that of ?get out asap?. unfortunately after this final approach my friends were tired of her patronising behaviour, and there was no chance they wanted to continue and get food from the restaurant. on the walk out, we heard jeers from customers saying it was disgusting that we used the toilets but didn?t get any food (had you known our experience was what i wrote above, i doubt you?d have had that reaction).
overall, it?s an honest shame our experience wasn?t as expected- i hope this review helps you to reflect on the events that conspired and it helps change your approach to future customers.

Very friendly staff and excellent food. We come back every time, we are in Eastbourne. We had the fish of the day and prawns - both crispy on the outside an juicy on the inside. The Chips were fine too, according to my husband the best chips ever.

We ate outside, which is a nice option, so I haven't rated the atmosphere inside. The service was quick and efficient, all credit to the hardworking staff, I hope they are appreciated by the Management! The fish and chips were excellent, fresh and beautifully cooked to perfection. Highly recommend.
