I am impressed with the service that the surgery is able to offer when we are hearing how stretched the NHS is. I recently fell down some stairs and felt unable to get to the surgery and they arranged a home visit on the same day. On another occasion I needed to see the doctor but no appointments were available. I was advised to phone the next morning at 8.30 and try for one of the appointments kept back for the day. The line was busy but I kept trying and by 8.40am I had secured a doctors appointment for that day. The reception staff are sympathetic, caring and kind. The doctors I have seen have taken the time to listen and, unlike other surgeries, I have never felt that I had to speed talk my way through the appointment.Unfortunately the in-house chemist is not always very good an example being the pharmacy were insistent they didn?t have a prescription from the doctor I went back to the receptionist who confirmed it was sent to them a few hours earlier, on another occasion they could not supply a medicine needed, didn?t know when they would be getting it in, when I asked what I should do they suggested asking the doctor for an alternative drug - why didn?t they do this, it seemed to lack initiative on their part. But all in all, despite my moans, I would really, really recommend this surgery.

Arlington Road has been my family surgery for many years. I have seen it grow from 3 doctors and 1 receptionist to the large, professional surgery it is today. Despite a growing demand for NHS treatment all the staff from receptionists, secretaries, nurses, healthcare assistants and doctors are all friendly and approachable. You would have to go a long way to find another surgery offering this standard of care.

Very unprofessional staff and rude doctors -I have been with this surgery for a long time and all of which have not been good, it's nearly impossible to get an appointment these days and when you do get through the receptionists always ask if it's an emergency first of all who would phone up and say no it's not an emergency just felt like ringing ? and then I have been asked what the problem was which is none of their business, and when I had told them previously they had repeated what I said loud so everyone would have heard! I had made a complaint about it but had no result. The doctors are no good for fully trained proffessionals, I have not been able to see my own doctor for over a year! I had one that had used google which I'm sorry but I could of done that myself! Another say what would you like me to do about it, well I wouldn't be there if I knew!! And recently got a doctors sick note that said i am not fit to work which he had reccommended and as the reason he put feels unwell, not sick, illness, viral, or flu or even cold that I have to hand in to my workplace that looks like a sick note for a five year old to get out of PE!Each time has been a disappointment I will NOT be stupid enough to go back again and will be choosing a different surgery!

Great doctors, that's if you get to see one when you need it. I was on the phone from opening time at 8:30am till 9:15am and was continually engaged, eventually my wife went down to see if an appointment would be possible to no avail. Absolutely crazy!!!!
