I have been a patient at Arlington Road for 17 years - since I moved to Eastbourne - and it is an excellent practice. The doctors are great - they listen to what you say, answer your questions and talk to you as if you are an intelligent human being, not an idiot. The practice runs a range of specialist clinics and support services staffed by really good nurses and support staff. It has become harder to get a normal appointment in recent years but that reflects the burden that all GPs face - of having too many patients and not enough resource. The reception staff will always do their best to help find an appointment as soon as they can. When it comes to emergency appointments they are first class - I was once ill on Christmas Eve and the duty GP spoke to me on the phone and then called me in for a face to face appointment that afternoon. The parking can be difficult as it is a town centre surgery about 100 yards from the train station but it is such a good practice that it's worth dealing with the parking issue to be a patient here. I also like the fact that its a training practice and is passing on not just medical knowledge and diagnostic skills but a really good patient care ethos which will help future generations of patients.

This has been my surgery for more than 20 years. It can be tricky to park nearby, and you have to phone up on the day to get an appointment. This is because so many people were making appointments then not turning up for them. Te phones are crazy at0830 when they open so it is best to queue outside and actually speak to someone. You can always see someone, often not your own doctor. They offer the usual range of services you would expect and are nice people.

Thankfully I don't have to visit the doctor very often, but when I do the doctors and nurses here are friendly, kind and immediately put you at ease. I have never had a problem getting an appointment, either booking in advance or on the day.

I've lived in Eastbourne (and surrounding areas) for 20 years and this has been my doctors surgery for 10 of them. It can sometimes be difficult to get an appointment with your actual doctor but they have lots of other doctors and the staff are always helpful and will find space for you if it's urgent. As well as doctors, Arlington Road Surgery has several practice nurses, various clinics, psychotherapists and health visitors.
