The perfect fish and chips, crisp and not fatty

I've only eaten from here once, and that was a few days ago. There's a reason I went back for more today but I was met with a closed shop. They have now updated their times as they were incorrect, incredibly quickly after my review might I add. If the food is consistent I will change to 5 stars.
After the owners of Odyssey fell out with the good owner going off and doing his own thing under the name "Royal Atlantic" (operating out of the old Bake 'n' Take premises in Hampden Park, which in my opinion was the best chippy we had locally until the owners retired), the only decent chippies we have around here are Qualisea, which I find overrated and somewhat hit-and-miss, and seemingly Dolphin.
I'm eager to go back for more soon.

Decided to stop for some chips after a nice walk along the seafront. We ordered a portion to share due to them being priced at £6 per person and when it arrived we were shocked at how tiny the portion was- very disappointing and overpriced.

Bang average cod and chips which look suspiciously from frozen. Fish was too perfectly rectangle, and small. The chips were not proper fat chippie chips. The onion rings were not authentic either, reminiscent of something from Iceland supermarket. The ketchup inside the Heinz bottle is not Heinz?my friend challenged this, the waiter accepted this to be true, after being defensive and catty in response. We were subsequently charged £2.90 to purchase a bottle of real Heinz from the shop, which is absolutely unheard of and bizarre considering they should be serving this basic condiment in the first place. Best bit was the curry sauce, which ultimately has nothing to do with British fish and chips - says what you need to know! £44.80 for 2 cod & chips, 1 onion rings and 2 cans of coke...oh and the bottle of Heinz. I thought we were in Eastbourne not London?

Best chip shop in Eastbourne in my opinion.

Honestly the best chips in Sussex, maybe even England.
Vegetarian options: I'm a vegetarian and I get a takeaway every Friday. Brilliant
Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly, the staff are great.

Truly awful customer service with a very rude owner. Average food - would recommend walking a bit further to find somewhere with decent food and customer service.

Quite superb. The best fish and chips that I can recall eating for a long time. Absolutely fresh and cooked to perfection.
