My husband bought me the most beautiful engagement ring, he worked really hard to choose the perfect ring and the staff in the shop knew it was for an engagement which clearly means a ring you would wear every day and it was sold with this in mind. All seemed well until 2 years into having it when the claws started to break. In 4 years we have had this ring repaired around 5 times. The first time I had to pay, the second time was free because it broke again within a couple of months of repair, the 3rd time I had to pay again, the 4th time a stone dropped out and the smaller clasps needed a complete build up which we had to pay for again and this 5th time was because once repaired it no longer fit to my wedding band. Each time we have had it repaired they have told us we are getting a great deal. But a great deal would be it not breaking in the first place, especially that many times in 4 years when it should be able to last much longer.I keep being told by the staff to ?stop gardening? or doing manual labour. However, I have an office based job and take it off when I exercise or go to bed. Each time I say this I am met with a facial expression that seems to think I?m lying which has felt a horrible to experience. We have asked for an extended warranty moving forwards with all the money we have paid out for repairs and been told no. With the most recent repair when I went to collect the ring, the person serving me named Alex made numerous comments that were extremely upsetting. She commented that ?the problem is when someone comes in with a budget we can?t make them spend more?. Implying that my husband purchased a cheap ring which it was not at all. He worked hard to afford it and choose it specifically for my taste and these comments were extremely upsetting and degrading. She also stated that he should have told them it was for an engagement and they may have advised against it. I informed her that he had purchased it with that information and was told It would be a wonderful ring. Which it is, but not when it has continuous problems. We now luckily have both of my rings back but as a family who have purchased from Chatfields multiple times in order to support local with a memory ring, wedding bands, engagement ring and watches. Unfortunately, we will never return or advise anyone else to purchase from them. We are extremely disappointed in the service we have received in this instance and the seeming lack of understanding or empathy shown or the offer to make it right when there is a clear design fault that had to be changed.

Lovely jewellers, was welcomed as soon as I walked in and had the help of a couple of staff members. They listened to exactly what I wanted and weren't pushy at all. The ring itself is beautiful I can't wait to be able to wear it.

Always provides outstanding service! During lockdown they worked with my now husband to sort out my stunning engagement ring (going above and beyond whilst the store was closed). They then worked with both of us to get our wedding bands. And they have more recently sorted the most gorgeous earrings for our anniversary! Will be a repeat customer for many years to come!

Chatfield's Jewellers designed and created my husband's bespoke wedding band with him. Chatfield's were able to incorporate the gold from a gold band he had handed down to him from a loved one that passed away. The communication and level of service throughout the process was superb, giving my husband supreme confidence that Chatfield's would create a fantastic piece out of his family's precious gold band.The final piece was fantastic. I bought my beautiful wife's engagement ring from Chatfield's Jewellers and we subsequently returned to them for our Wedding Bands. We were and are over the moon with our purchases, the care and attention to detail provided by the welcoming staff... and all their much needed advice (on my part atleast..). This is a Wonderful family run business that I would both highly recommend and indeed return to in the future for special occasions (or indeed when I am told to...).

This is a brilliant independent jewellers. We were recently sold a bad product by a high street jeweller but our experience at Chatfields was a total contrast. We bought an excellent piece at a very competitive price but the really outstanding aspect was the service my wife and I received from Georgie, the lady serving. She was very informative about the product as well as being generally very knowledgeable; she went above and beyond to answer our questions. This is the second purchase that we've made at Chatfields on both occasions we had outstanding customer service.

I walked in and someone half heartedly said hello, then walked off, as did other staff. I was interested in trying a ring on, but got no attention. Felt like I was looked down on, or they may have just thought I went to look, but would have been nice to have been asked if I wanted any help. Nothing happened, so I gave up and walked out. If they had shown interest I may have been interested in a ring for about £1800. I guess they didn?t think I have the money for nice things. I will be taking my money elsewhere !!!

I visited Chatfields yesterday to buy a Christmas present for a relative, I had a rough idea what I wanted but the assistant who helped me bent over backwards to offer suggestions and show me the items. Wonderful service from Chatfields - my husband contacted them during lockdown in the hope they could find a replacement for a ring he had previously bought for me there, which was accidentally lost at a funeral. Chatfields were wonderful, they managed to source an exact replica, they sized it and Alex hand delivered it to our door within a few days. I was so impressed and greatful for the service I received when buying an engagement ring. I had in mind the style of band/diamond and was able to design my own ring. Chatsfields ordered in 2 of my favourite bands and 3 diamonds, these arrived 2 days later and I then went in to inspect the different combinations to get the perfect ring. I thought this way would be hugely expensive but it worked out way better value for money and a one off ring that no other bride has on her finger felt very special. Thanks so much chatsfields, couldn't recommend any more.
