We hadn't been to this pub for 5 years and we found it better than before! They have a big garden for families too.

Great old pub, out of the way with a large and spread out garden. Portion of chips was great but small.

Historical country pub with great vibes. The food was very tasty and home made had the steak burger with a extra egg, the relish was lovely. Very large garden loads of space for kids and easy to keep an eye on them. Can see it being busy on the weekends in the summer!
Friendly and pleasant staff.
Lots of parking available at the back.
Not a lot of larger choices settled for a pint of draft coke £4.25 little spenny but tastes great.
Lots of wine choices.
Nice overall experience and will return at some point.

Perfect roast , it could be home for roast

Had the roast, 1 chicken, 1 beef. By the time the veg turned up the main was cold, and to cap it off the veg was so overcooked it was mushy. Shame they didn't overcook the beef, had to take that home for the foxes as it was raw..! The bill was £44 and because of the rubbish dinner and poor service was not prepared to leave a tip. Gave the woman a £50 note and waited 10 mins for my change and never saw her again.

Very busy on Sunday evening but service was efficient and friendly. Food was tasty and large portions.
Special mention to Beth whose smile and chat made the meal special.

They were fully booked but offered a high table next to the bar. Service was very good, efficient and all staff were so happy ?. The food, ham, egg & chips and fishcakes (balls) were delicious with a great salad! Highly recommend! X

Menu change resulting in last two meals being made up of too much salad. £17 for 3 fish cakes and a lettuce leaf full of salad and no chips not value for money I'm afraid

Really nice pub with lovely staff. Had a big party and food arrived very quickly.
While the food on the whole was great, the chicken in my caesar salad was a bit too dry for me personally.
My boyfriend ordered the chicken tikka burger which was really flavourful and definitely the highlight.
All in all, was a worthwhile visit :)

Thank you to everyone at the Plough for giving us such a wonderful evening in their private room for a 70th birthday party. From the very 1st contact to the very last minute of the evening , the staff were all fantastic, helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble, the food wonderful. Josh, you were right thank you for your advice. We will be back soon

We stopped here on the way to Newhaven port and they couldn't of been more accommodating, there was 9 of us and all the food came out hot and cooked to perfection, the service was fantastic, highly recommend.

Food was nice, nothing special but acceptable. Service was very poor,we had to keep leaving the table to find staff to take orders etc even though the pub was pretty empty.
Would go there again with low expectations and hope for an improvement.
