My wife and I were passing through the area and looking for somewhere to stop for dinner, we spotted the sign for this pub and decided to pull in.
It's truly a little gem tucked just back from the main high st, the food was amazing and the staff were exceptional! Well done to all that work at The Rose & Crown, we will be recommending you to our friends and we will certainly be back!

Stop off for some lunch had a sandwich and a pint of Harvey's Tom paine very good beer.

Recently moved to Burwash and yesterday was our first outing to the local Pubs and i highly recommend The Rose and Crown. It had live entertainment which was fantastic. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. We will be returning 10/10

I have been here previously and on multiple occasions I suffered food poisoning but the reason I am writing this review is about the cleanliness outside of the pub, I was dropping a friend off back home to which I had to drive over glass they had left smashed all over the little lane, as I was dropping my friend off I noticed someone walking their dog in which I hope that poor dog hasn?t stood in any of the shattered glass and with a play park so close that children of all different ages go to it poses a massive health and safety risk, I?m also hoping I now don?t wake up with a flat tyre because of this!!

Lovely friendly pub with a nice courtyard garden. Very limited parking hence the 4 stars. Food and service very good.
Nearby activities: Good place for food if you are going to Sarah Raven's Perch Hill Farm.

Tucked away from the main road, and definitely not to be overlooked, this pub is beautifully traditional in its appearance and just as functional in its bar and restaurant. I came in for a pub lunch with my family just after visiting the Bateman?s house, not expecting anything more than the average roast but in fact, I very much enjoyed the chicken roast that the rose and crown had to offer. The chicken roast definitely exceeded my expectation, as it was everything one would expect in a chicken roast, but at its best. I?m not ashamed to say that me and my family had our fill and POLISHED the plates. The staff member, his name was Alex, was very very friendly. Despite his tall appearance which works against his favour in such a short ceiling pub, Alex is approachable, bubbly and makes good conversation which makes the world of a difference to me as a customer in my opinion. The pub also has a generous variety of Harvey?s beer if that strikes your fancy, it?s very popular among other places and you will definitely taste the difference here since the rose and crown actually clean their lines and can pour well.
Lastly, although I hadn?t sat in the garden myself, it would be very pleasant on a hot day especially since the pub is not on the main road and therefore you can enjoy the privacy of the area and bask in good weather with no car pollution. It?s worth a visit if you can?t decide out of the other two pubs in the area, which in my opinion don?t compare to the lovely standard of rose and crown.
