We visited the Wheel on Sunday for a family celebration. Four of us had roast beef and one had a veggie roast. We all agreed it was the best pub roast we'd ever had. The desserts were excellent too. Highly recommended.

First time visit for a Sunday roast but also had to have a starter and dessert! The food was superb?..all very tasty and plenty of it (don?t eat before you go!). We would highly recommend?..my wife said it was the best roast dinner she has had in a restaurant ? The staff were all very friendly and attentive.

Our group of 4 enjoyed a really tasty Sunday roast today (we had pork belly and beef). Everything was cooked very well and the only thing stopping me eating my last potato was that I had no space left! Would happily come back for Sunday lunch again. Also had a nice glass of mulled wine. Lovely warm atmosphere with cosy wood burner / log fire and friendly staff.

Visited here on our walk from Woods Corner. A delightful pub set in the quiet village of Burwash we were warmly greeted. Staff were very friendly. Food was excellent. We only wanted a snack so had the bbq chicken wings and a portion of cheese and bacon loaded fries. Both were excellent. Definitely recommend and we hope to return soon.

Superb Sunday Roast! We visited The Wheel for the first time yesterday, and absolutely loved it. The Sunday roast was possibly the best we have ever had, with roast beef and pork belly cooked to perfection and the vegetables delicious. The wine was also excellent (Rioja in our case). The choice of blues music was unusual, but actually worked really well in the charming dining room with log fires burning. It was a cold, dark and wet day, but our visit more than made up for that. We'll be back!

Sunday Lunch at the Wheel. Fire going and amazing Sunday Lunch served swiftly and pleasantly by the staff. Good, excellent. Actually best Sunday Lunch for many years. Scared to rate it too highly in case it gets so busy I can?t book it again ?

We have been here a few times and the food is always really good. We went to their special fish night, and just wow! Superb gourmet food that you wouldn't have exoected at a local pub. It's a little more expensive than the usual menu, but it's well worth it.

We were welcomed warmly by staff, and they served all our requests pleasantly. We had a excellent meal 16 September 2023. My husband had Thai infused King Prawns, served with a satay sauce, followed by Lobster. I choose Salted Cod Fritters followed by Halibut, served with artichoke, mushrooms, turnip and mushroom consume. Other family members had Scallops, Lobster Crumpets followed by Salmon en Papillote, and White Miso Charred Cod. We shared, side dishes Dauphinoise, Fries, Salad and Chilli Butter Seared Broccoli. We could not eat all that we ordered. Food was fresh and very tasty. Great chef. We could not find fault with the service or meal. We will be back.

Took my father for Sunday Lunch. Friendly Staff, good value and excellent food. Beautiful yorkshires and the lightest sticky toffee pud I?ve ever tasted. Great to see all the local pictures on the wall, my dad has lived in Burwash all his life, and his mum knew Kipling, this is a lovely touch. My dad is already planning his next visit! Thank you, we?ll be back.

Had the Sunday roast here on 13th August. Roast pork and gammon mix. Absolutely bloody amazing. Best roast ever, ever, ever had in a pub and good value too. Huge portion so the dogs are getting lucky later with the doggy bags. The staff were lovely, so attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The chef came out to say hello so we were able to thank him personally for his superb dinner. Will deffo be going back to The Wheel and feel very lucky to have found this little gem just a 5 minute drive away.

Oh my goodness! The best Sunday roast ever! Massive portion of extremely high quality food. Fabulous bar staff and service. We will most definitely be back!

We stopped here for my birthday on the way to Eastbourne. As we entered the, we were amazed by the cleanliness of the establishment and friendliness of the staff. We had a wonderful lunch outside and the girl who served us was very welcoming. Many thanks to the chef as well for cooking us a great meal. I highly recommend this place for a quiet and quaint meal out.

We had a great meal at The Wheel last night, a new reduced menu expertly cooked and served with care and charm, we had the pie which was a proper pie with a base, full of meat, great flakey pastry served with mash or chips , veg and a jug of lovely gravy, all great, highly recommended, we will return.
