Stellar classics section and they have a great choice. Very big waterstones in general and the staff are very attentive! Only complaints are that the cushions on the window seats are dirty and the cafe is currently closed for renovation.

Visited during my daughter?s birthday week to pick up a book. On the children?s floor, there was no one at the counter, which was a little inconvenient, but when we went down to the ground floor the young woman at the till was polite, friendly, and helpful. My daughter was happy with her book, which made the visit special.

This used to be a good shop but the recent reorganisation of the stock is making it less appealing by the day. The relegation of the crime section to the back of the shop and away from it's natural companion (horror, urban fantasy, sci fi) is irritating and leaves it looking like an uncurated footnote. The shop used to feel like individual booksellers were enthusiastic advocates of a particular area be it crime, cookery or history. More and more it's feeling like a big box supermarket.

The coffee staff is lacking good manners. Today the Asian lady was impolite not, unsuitable for serving coffee. I thought I was talking to a robot.

What can u say a bout a book store it sell books. Staff where good and friendly I charge 25 pence for paper bag it wasn't plastic .so leave it up to u. To decide. A bout charging for a paper bag.

I was just in Brighton Waterstones, selected a book to buy and went to the desk to pay. The customer before me finished his transaction, but rather than deal with me the male staff member at the desk proceeded to have a conversation about going to see cricket and ignored me. I left the book on a table and walked out. I will stick to independent book shops in future.

I returned a book as I was given the same one for Christmas. The staff member could not have been nicer or more helpful, such great service!

Any book you need, they have it or can source it for you. They have a nice, quiet coffee shop upstairs where you can snuggle up with a good book.
