Our usual annual visit, this time in September, was pleasant enough. The location of this travelodge suffers somewhat from the nightclub across the road and it really matters which room you are booked into as to whether you get a good night's sleep or not. This time we were able to have rooms on the 6th floor, which faced out to sea and to the side rear of the building, which meant we were away from the noise. Slept very well. The breakfast is okay, but tends to get cold pretty quickly. Our main beef is with the rooms themselves - we had 'super rooms', but there was no cupboards and generally felt the room could have done with a makeover. The location, apart from the nightclub opposite, is very good, as it is very close to the seafront and near all attractions. We have stayed here quite a few times, so generally believe it is good value for money and offers an enjoyable stay.

Happy friendly staff, great service, lovely rooms, comfy beds, checked in early as room was ready, lovely drinks from the bar, staff happy to help with anything, perfect location, good drinks, perfect place to stay

Room had sticky surfaces , doors and walls. Shower screen had skank on it like blood! Shower soap empty! Disco next door super loud all evening plus bottle chinking all evening. Rostering left one poor guy running the busy reception solo on Saturday and the bar area! He did his best job but what manager feels this ok!

A tricky one to rate as this place really showed the good and bad to extreme in one stay! The positives are that the staff are really friendly and have great customer service skills. They are genuine in their helpful attitude and on that front this would make for a highly recommended stay. Now the bad, I know this is a nationwide Travelodge choice, but paying for WiFi on top of the hotel cost (where cheaper can be found) I think is a rip-off. You pay a good few pounds to use it for a short amount of time, and my mobile data signal was very weak but I just went outside if I needed to use it as the Wifi is just too expensive. Our sheet had a whole in it, and the room did not have a dispenser with shower gel in by the shower which a member of reception said it did when I asked where the advertised shower gel was, the only dispenser was by the sink for washing your hands with. Everything else in the room (this was a super accessible room) was well laid out to be more accessible and everything seemed clean. Yes there was a TV, but of course if you want to watch Netflix you'll have to fork out for WiFi. But the biggest issue was the breakfast. The breakfast may be unlimited but I wish it had been limited having tried to eat it. Maybe they do it on purpose to keep costs low! The most low quality ingredients, overcooked so much I had issues digesting them. And I have never had scrambled eggs tasting of absolutely nothing. Even the apple juice had zero taste. I'm guessing they had watered it down so much. There was nothing good about the breakfast, even the fruit wasn't fresh!

The staff here work very hard and are so helpful and friendly. Even though they were so busy, nothing was to much trouble. Upon checking into my room, I realised the window was broken (it wouldn't close). I went to the front desk and within a minute they had allocated me a new room and handed me a new key card. I was impressed with how quickly and efficiently they resolved this. It's a shame that the hard work of the staff is let down by how worn out and scruffy the place is. If management worked on giving the place a deep clean and refresh it would be a lovely place to stay. There were hairs and what looked like popcorn in the bed, the carpet was always damp, and I made the mistake of looking under the mattress cover which was covered (and I mean covered) in stains, mostly red. The shower also flooded the bathroom (longer shower curtains or a screen would likely solve this). I noticed that a lot of guests use this place as a base when going out drinking in the clubs surrounding it too, so I was often woken by drunk people shouting in the corridors; this isn't the hotel's fault of course, but worth pointing out if you want to stay somewhere for a good night's sleep.

Room was so hot that you could eggs on the table and the smell of mould was absolutely disgusting. Stayed for 4 nights and would rather have slept on the street. The location was great but that was the only thing good about the place

Me and my friends came down in the weekend and couldn?t ask for much more, decent hotel, room was a bit hot but they solved the issue by giving extra fans, room was a decent size for a short stay, breakfast was decent, and had shoot hour in the bar 5-7, we enjoyed our stay

The room was boiling hot. Not sure which genius decided that the top floor doesn?t need air conditioning. But what a joke. The fan in my room was absolutely filthy. Covered in dust and dirt. Having it on made it hard to breathe. Asked for a replacement fan and ended up with the same issue. So I couldn?t use them. Also I paid extra for a ?quiet room? which is ridiculous because it was noisy all the time. The only good thing about the hotel is the location. Which is why I booked it. Won?t be staying there again. Oh and charging for WiFi? Seriously? Especially when it?s that patchy and unreliable.

I was there for a conference in Brighton, the service is amazing, when I realised the shower gel tank was full of water, the reception gentleman changed it immediately, super efficient! The room is a bit noisy as lots of seagulls. But it is really sea-front view, very pretty view, you can see the first shed of sunlight going through the window. Brilliant service and nice view!

Pretty much standard travelodge. Clean and tidy, problem with room resolved quickly and to satisfaction. NB some of the twin rooms are very tiny indeed. Nowhere to place a suitcase even, and no space under the bed, you have to walk sideways all the time. Noise from neighbouring nightclub was difficult.

The room was not bad for the most part, had been renovated at some point and everything seemed to work fine etc... but massively let down by the disgusting carpet. It was really dirty and horrible to walk bare foot on. I wouldn't let my dog sleep on that it was so bad.I had dinner in my reservation, which took quite a while considering it didn't look busy at all. But I can't fault the pizza and loaded chips, it was pretty niceBreakfast was not good though. Coffee machines looked unclean and the quality of the coffee reflected this.I think the secret ingredient to the rest of the breakfast may have been offcuts of old carpet. Even the hash browns were quite the disappointment.I wasn't expecting great things for breakfast but something edible would be nice.

I am from Brighton so I new what I was getting myself in for, I have been visiting family and the trip was a must. This is one of the cheapest hotels for a reason. The hotel is situated on West Street which has the majority of clubs, you are right next door to Brightons biggest and busiestclubs. This hotel is not child friendly. Stay here for the night life or be prepared and bring very good ear plugs. The staff are nice and the rooms are clean. The rooms are very very basic but you get what you pay for.i will only ever come back if I have no other choice.
