What a fab evening in any possible way! The food was excellent, made with love, fine ingredients and nicely presented. The cocktails were delicious and a tasty surprise. The service was flawless and the upper room was very cosy and relaxed. It is definitely my favourite place to eat in Brighton.

We had an amazing opportunity of trying this place, and what an experience it was!The food was 10/10, great selection of starters and sides but the main course was just unbelievably outstanding, no surprise this place was filling up fast on a week day, make sure you make your reservations! Great food, very friendly staff and a beautiful atmosphere! Highlight of our trip.

A delightful experience at the Coalshed. Amazing food, attentive service and delicious cocktails! If I were to nitpick, the downstairs area was a bit cool. Next time, and there will be a next time, I?d request a table upstairs.

Went for lunch with my partner and another couple for our friend?s birthday. Our waiter, Henry, made our experience. He was absolutely fantastic; friendly, funny, and was extremely helpful especially when we were being indecisive. He clearly listens too as he knew whose birthday it was, based on us calling him the birthday boy once, and brought out a complementary sweet with a candle at the end of our meal and sang happy birthday too, Onto the food; exquisite from start to finish. The pork belly is the softest most melt in the mouth pork belly I?ve ever had. We have been talking about it for the last 24 hours it was that good. The steaks were all cooked to perfection, and very tender. We then shared some sides, which again, faultless. The chips were crunchy yet fluffy, the onion rings were huge and full of flavour and the mac and cheese was up there with the best I?ve ever had. We absolutely cannot wait to go back again.

I cannot rate this highly enough. Easily the best meal I?ve had out. Everything was excellent; from the starters, mains, atmosphere, and service nothing can be faulted. We went as a family and ordered a range of starters including the king prawns, salmon, oxcheek doughnuts, pork belly, and the miso chicken. Everything was exceptional. The sourdough and salted chicken butter was out of this world and you have to order. For our mains, each steak was cooked to perfection, the sides were so tasty and everything was seasoned to perfection. We got the Mac and cheese, creamed spinach, Caesar salad, chips, mash, and onion rings. Big shout out to our waiter Nico, he was very knowledgeable of the menu, helped advise on wines and was the perfect level of attentive. He was very professional and made us all feel so welcomed. Must try and will 100% be back

Our Tomahawk steak was divine! Even the side dishes were beautifully presented. Best onion rings we've ever had! We were looked after by Beth who knew lots about the menu, helping us to choose the steak she thought we might like best. She knew about the wines and we also had a chat about the new restaurant. My boyfriend said it was his best birthday dining experience ever! We are still talking about it today. Ten out of ten to The Coal Shed ?

Ben was brilliant! So knowledgable with great recommendations and did not disappoint. The food was brilliant, soo tasty, would highly recommend not skipping the nibbles, the ox cheek doughnuts and truffle arancini were fantastic They even made it special for our engagement ?

Outstanding restaurant.We hired the private dining room for a Christmas works meal. It did not disappoint! Expertly prepared food,attentive staff and a well-curated wine list completed the perfect evening. Highly recommend!

Went here recently for date night and the food continues to be phenomenal. Service was absolutely amazing and staff were kind and engaging. They were also kind enough to make me a non alcoholic cocktail that was off menu.Everything tasted quality and the triple cooked chips are to die for! The miso chicken starter was impeccable!Dietary restrictions: Staff ask when you order if there are any diners with allergies etc
