It?s all about the pie! No fuss. Just honest, tasty and filling!
Superb and well priced.
Got to give it a go!

Excellent range of ciders and ales in this small and welcoming pub. One of my favourite pubs in Kemptown. Well worth popping in.

Quirky little pub, we were just passing through and decided to stop in for a drink. We sat out in the courtyard which was an unexpected bonus! Staff were friendly, good prices for drinks (nothing crazy like in some other brighton pubs!). We noticed they had lots of boardgames too which look fun - so will be back! Thanks!

Very good Kemptown pub about half an hour's walk from Brighton Railway Station. Three cask beers - and six ciders - on handpump when I visited. Lots of outdoor seating in the garden to the rear some of it covered. Friendly and helpful staff.

Quirky little boozer. Decent outdoor area for a little puff. Nice strong ciders on sale. Worth popping in for a pint.

Nice pub and beer garden, good selection of cider. A table made of an old arcade machine (still working!) was really cool.

What a funny (odd) experience- male staff member did his job ok with the first round - failure to smile & engage forgivable - who would want to serve middle class knobs day in day out? - but the female member of staff took it up a notch for the next round - she couldn?t be bothered to open my can & pour the beer & then tossed my bag of crisps halfway down the bar as she wandered off to get the POS unit. I?ve read other reports of similar experiences- my son then told me of hearing of such as well - Pity ..

This was our local for several years, and overall it's a lovely place. Wonderful vibes and great food, perfect for the area.
However, the service recently has been awful
? there's one female staff member (prominent chest tattoo) who is consistently miserable and drags the experience down, to the point where it's a running joke in our family. She makes us dread having to order as she?s quite rude and short in her replies. A shame that the staff can drag down an otherwise great place

Neighbourhood pub in Kemptown with old style deco and friendly staff. Good selection of drinks, especially cider.

Lovely pub with good atmosphere. Lovely man behind the bar and everything was really clean and tidy. Can also get food from neighbouring restaurants which is great perk.

Wow! Just had a fabulous Sunday roast at the Barley Mow.
Crispy roast potatoes - home made Yorkshires and delicious cauliflower cheese. Not worth cooking one at home !! Absolutely delicious and no washing up.

Friends from Northern Ireland & London meet at this lovely pub. Pies were very tasty. Spoilt by a surly bar man with dark hair who showed very little interest in customer service which was disappointing as everywhere else in Brighton the service is friendly, hospitable and efficient.

Pies incredibly necessary!

This is a lovely local pub full of character and locals, but friendly ones so that you don't feel awkward. Walking in. The service is fast. The tables are rickety and the garden out the back has heaters that allow you to sit out there even if it's cold. The toilet doors are excellently decorated and make you smile. All in all I would highly recommend this as a waiter pass an evening. The other thing that this place has going for it is large tables and a huge amount of games that can be sat and played through an afternoon.
