Lovely place to visit but so let down by the cafe. After 25 minutes waiting for our order to be taken, we left. I asked 3 separate staff if they could take our order (I asked nicely!). They all said yes, but none of them ever did. They all saw us leave and any one of them could have come over to save the situation but they really couldn?t be bothered. Take a picnic!

The location is beautiful, but that's as good as it gets.
Service is lacklustre at best, and the food was not good.
We had eggs royale, in a plate full of salty hollandaise sauce. Staff need training.

We tried to visit on Friday 26th July but parking app was down and phone number advertised was having technical difficulties. Asked 2 members of staff if we could pay cash, this was not possible as parking controlled by Brighton Council. We had to leave as we didn't want to risk getting a parking fine (£100). Frustrating and disappointed!

The setting is glorious and the staff are lovely, but the food at The One Garden is overpriced and is very hit and miss.My latest shock was the £23 price tag on 3 plain croissants and 3 coffees.Perhaps if they were the warm, pull apart French quality croissants I might have let it go, but they were cold and stale and a great let down.
The whole park is fantastic and totally worth a visit and there are several other outlets selling drinks and food including the village cafe.

Go at a quiet time to enjoy the gardens, cafe and shop. It's very peaceful and also close to the one farm orchard. Beautiful location

Super venue for all gardening enthusiastics and garden lovers. Place dose grub also. Medioca grub but all round good food well cooked.
Theres always something going on during the summer. And you can walk it all off by the beautiful surrondings of Stamer Park.

Changed my review from 5* to 1*
I don't know what's happened but I believe the kitchen and the staff here have changed. They seem to constantly run out of most things on the menu and they're not very friendly or helpful and extremely slow. Two disappointing visits now so don't think they're just having a bad day. Add to that the prices which have been jacked right up. Best off heading to the cafe in the village instead.

Loads of potential - beautiful gardens and environment with lots of parking space available, and an outdoor area to accomodate families and dogs alike.
The produce used is beautiful and the meals are well designed in principle - but the breakfast ingredients were pre-cooked, and then not sufficiently prepared for service, so I was served cold poached eggs and my mother received cold and rubbery halloumi cheese. Also there was a distinct lack of fresh herbs despite the abundant gardens everywhere - it makes no sense to not garnish with the fresh produce so readily available.
For the price, this just isn't good enough. The time it took for the food to arrive was plenty to cook the core ingredients from scratch (I'm a chef - I know this for a fact), and just a little more intent to maximise the fresh prepared-ness of the food would elevate the meal to the level which is clearly intended.
The staff were nice, but some of the younger ones could do with a little more training and confidence.
Overall, the experience was decent, and so close to being excellent that the shortcomings were striking.
Restrooms: Plentiful, clean, and well appointed.
Dog-friendliness: Dogs welcome and plenty of space to spread out.
Picnic area: Beautiful spacious garden area available for use.
