I just bought some rotten beef as part of a stir fry. The label obscured the colour...and when I opened it the smell was appalling! The customer service team online were great, but I didn't get a refund...just a gift certificate (as I didn't have the receipt). This is the second batch of rotten meat I have had from this store in a month. Best avoided. They clearly have an issue with quality control and refrigeration. I will certainly not be shopping here again. If you do buy meat here, make sure you get a receipt.

Arrived an hour before they close (11pm) but told they had to shut early because they had a large delivery and couldn't handle customers in the shop. Feel like they fundamentally misunderstand the point of a shop.

Lots of food options, great location, but black female staff member gave me two bizarre shoves and almost 'accidently' stomped on my foot...no idea what that was about..i'm almost 60..had to ask her to stop shoving me...cant work out what she was doing it for...too scared to go back

I was late for my train with 2 mins to grab a sandwich, I didn?t have a lock for my bike but luckily a member of staff offered to watch my bike as I bought a sandwich - absolute legend that man deserves a shoutout thanks ????????

Recently revamped the store and now sandwiches are round a corner and often a bottleneck. Not helping are the pallets blocking the way. But otherwise a decent standard small M&S food store.

A little busy & fairly small inside, pretty functional store and very handy to have if you?re on the move and busy waiting for a train at the station! Helpful staff!!! ???

Strange negative reviews left by other people. Great food that is roughly the same price as other M&S stores (premium prices for premium food). Take a look at how much WHSmiths or Superdrug?s charge then come back!

Love this place, I?m generally there for the sandwiches and freshly squeezed orange juice, much selection and choice in the food hall and a warm and friendly place to visit as a whole, I?ve bought suits and shoes in the past and smart shirts, staff are always helpful.

The M&S store in Brighton is quite small and unfortunately extremely cold inside which can make the shopping experience a bit unpleasant. The range of products is not very varied, you don't find a lot of things, and the selection is quite limited.
I bought a sandwich which was just ok, nothing extraordinary but suitable for a quick snack. I also tried two muffins ? one chocolate and one vanilla. They were decent, but again, they didn't impress me.
What I noticed is that there are no staff houses, all the houses are self-service only, which can be advantageous for those in a hurry, but not exactly ideal if you need assistance or prefer interacting with an employee.
I asked an employee if they had ice cream, the answer was no and she seemed surprised that I was asking her about ice cream considering that it was 28 degrees outside and it was super hot outside, one inside the store was freezing.
Overall, the store is useful for a quick stop, but doesn't make for a very memorable shopping experience.

Went into store today to buy a meal deal and asked a member of staff (I believe her name was Sofia) and she was extremely rude towards me. She seemed angered to have to answer a simple question and I felt extremely uncomfortable afterwards. I?ve never experienced such rude customer service in an M&S and have been put off returning.

Overpriced ?

They change the opening hours every other month, but even when it says open 6am it's not open. :( the staff even looked at me trying to open door at 6:02 to buy bottle of water and they did nothing. And yes, I tried both doors. :)

Overpriced but a lifesaver when you want train snacks or bevvies

Very expensive for most things. Pretty small store so limited stock available. Also can get very tight to move during busy times. The big (about 800ml) bottle of not-from-concentrate fruit smoothie is quite reasonably priced though at around £2.30 I think.
