I have curly hair and so haircuts can cause me a bit of anxiety…however I wanted to go shorter and had a particular style in mind. Frankie totally nailed it and it’s exactly what I wanted.
She gave me options to choose before cutting and together we just worked it out.
And we had a good laugh and chat and great coffee! With this being so close to work, I’ll be a new customer here.”

Amazing! Mike is the man.

I’ve grown my hair out, it was frizzy, dry and tricky to manage.

I’ve struggled to find hairdressers that ‘cater’ to my hair type in the past and have been fairly hesitant to try out a hairdresser I don’t know.

However, upon reading reviews, I decided to choose Mike.

Mike has a wealth of knowledge, patience and understanding in what he does. More specifically in wavey/Curly hair.

He took the time to talk through the entire process, whilst making it an enjoyable experience.

He looked at the products & method I used, helping advise me on where I may be going wrong , with applying these products to my hair and not using the correct products or method.

Mike showed me the products he was using and how to use them throughout each stage, helping me write notes as there was a wealth of knowledge he was willing to share with me that were specific to my hair type.

I’d say the prices are competitive, I have had other cuts that have been fairly cheaper, but it’s clear to see they take the time and are really attentive to you throughout. Hence the service is reflective on the price tag and rightly so, you get what you pay for.

I am so glad I’ve found this salon and have booked in for 4 months time.

The service is flexible and they offer last minute appointments at a reduced rate which is great if you work shifts like me. The salon also offers free fringe trims between appointments. “Walking in to Japonica after a manic week, off a busy road you are instantly transported to serenity. Smells lush, looks calm, beautifully thought out interior and then there’s the consultation and hair cut.
Seiko listened, advised and gave me options. Understood my low maintenance needs. Relaxing head massage and wash and chat with lovely assistant. I got my fringe back, advice on how to dry, chat about hair care and life. It was an uplifting joy. Thank you Seiko and all at Japonica. Sarah”

“I came into Toni and guy the other day for my first balayage colour service with them only to find out I had accidentally booked the wrong service online!However, Dan my stylist for the appointment was absolutely incredible, he arranged his appointments for the afternoon so that he could fit me in and I am so grateful for it. I am over the moon with the results as I naturally have very dark curly hair and it has come out quite ginger in the past with balayage but Dan managed to work his magic and bring out the loveliest light colour.
