I went here a little while back while visiting Brighton on holiday and it was, by far, the BEST bar I went to on my entire trip! (And I went to a lot!) Not only was the atmosphere incredible (great music, awesome aesthetics, really cool layout) but the staff were outstanding. They were so inviting and fun to talk to, and they also care so deeply about the well-being of their customers; when I found I'd had a little too much to drink, the staff took excellent care of me and even ensured I got home safe! (David was especially great!) I'd definitely recommend visiting Deadwax if you're in the area, you won't regret it!

It's pretty nice but doesn't have the cheapest drinks. Seems to be a lot emptier than it used to be, might be cuz they don't do pizza anymore

Turned away due to not having id even though I habe grey hair and am 42. Bouncers obv didnt like the look of us. AVOID this place

The music is great on the weekends and is a great place to go with friends, Louella on the bar was very accompanying to me and my friends and was very welcoming, would highly recommend

Positive: The vibes, immaculate. The music too. Bouncers are kind and professional. Toilets as clean as you could reasonably expect. There's seating and a good sized dance floor.
Negative: Not cheap by any standard. If you buy a red bull drink you're probably not getting the rest of your can as they split it with someone else getting one already. Best part of £20 for a double vodka redbull with a shot, and you don't even get a whole redbull. Never seen it anywhere else when it isn't coming out of a tap.
I personally preferred the colour scheme of the pre-refit deadwax, but that's neither here nor there really.
Still one of the best bars in the city/county and I will keep coming back.

Stumbled upon DWS after hearing sounds from the Thursday night Greenhouse Jam emanating into the street nearby. Awesome atmosphere and vibe, great decoration and comfortable. The Greenhouse Jam included a group of high quality performers which provided class entertainment throughout the night.

Dead Wax post-refurb is such a vibey space to come into! Been open for about half a year now and defo my favourite place for a night out in Brighton! The staff are all lovely, they have a great cocktail selection, the DJs never miss and they also got live music now.

Rude and unprofessional bouncers! We went in, had two pints, and then my friend was denied re-entry for being ?too drunk?. This completely wrecked her vibe for the night, as she wasn?t in the least bit intoxicated.
Their justification was ?nope we had this happen last night?. What?! What does that even mean? So because last night some random person caused problems she can?t come in? They also just shook their heads at me before I insisted on a reason.
I stress also, we had two drinks in about an hour.

Had the most fantastic time! Ama behind the bar was the sweetest and super friendly; made our first trip to dead wax super enjoyable. Will definitely be coming back!
