Update: had a lovely conversation with the owner, who called me up; just out from a follow-up session, and very pleased with the cut, and how my complaint was handled ?
Been my go-to place for four years (Max is great), but kept my deposit after i had to rush to see a close family member in the ICU; even though i tried to move the appointment at the first possible opportunity.
Fair play as I knew the terms of the deposit, but no offer of goodwill during a harrowing and emotional time - they just asked for a new deposit. Whole thing left a sour taste in my mouth, so won't be back.

Had a trim on two separate occasions with Tom and Fabio, both are fab senior stylists, would highly recommend for a men?s haircut. I?ll be going back

I went to the Brighton branch and had Tom colour and cut my hair. I'm quite anxious when it comes to hairdressers (I don't go very often because of it) they were amazing when I mentioned that while booking, (the person on the front desk was amazing! Sorry I don't remember your name) they made a note and when I had my appointment they were all great. I was talked through everything that was happening, I really appreciated that. I felt at ease and I would visit again. I have seen people say it's not cheap. But for the experience I had I would say it was 100% worth it. Thank you for fab hair :-)

I came in for a shoulder length shag haircut. I had over an inch cut off the length which was totally unexpected as the photo I had shown had shoulder length hair. The layers are much longer than a shag style so it just looks like a layered bob. Not a great result if I'm honest.

Mixed experience... my first haircut was amazing, 2nd went far too short but after complaining, I've had a free cut and happier. Overall, the service is amazing! Love the head massage when my hair is being washed. Not cheap but definitely worth it

I got a curly cut by Chyrese at the Brighton Salon and it was the best curly cut I've ever had! I had a re-styling and got a curly fringe cut and I was so happy with how it turned out. I've also never seen my curls look so healthy and springy. Chyrese was lovely and friendly and really listened to what I wanted! Couldn't recommend her enough.

Have tried cuttlefish a few times now, ever hopeful. But sadly I've been left underwhelmed and disappointed. Was really hoping the curly hair specialists would create a good cut but although I love the ethos of cuttlefish I'm not sure the cuts I've had are worth the price. Sorry to post this.

Best haircut I've ever had - Grace really listened to what I asked for, everybody was super friendly, and I got an excellent cut for a really reasonable price

Grace is amazing. I was so happy with my curls I nearly had an unplanned eye leakage! She took the time to explain what she was doing & how to do it myself. She even wrote it all down for me as I've got adhd & working memory issues. She entirely surpassed all my expectations - it felt like a shame I wasn't going out later. Even my teenagers were impressed :)

Unfortunately didn?t have a positive experience, despite hearing good things from friends. I paid £80 for a curly cut, and it was not at all worth it. The cut wasn?t too bad in the end but the hairdresser I had (chyrese) kept telling me the style I wanted wouldn?t look good because my hair was too curly. Considering this hairdresser is apparently a curly specialist and my hair is hardly extreme I find this quite shocking. I hate to think how they would have reacted to any natural hair. I appreciate a professional opinion of course, but all I was asking for was layers. If I?m going to pay £80 for a haircut I want something a bit different, which is what I told her. She brushed my hair when it was dry (ouch!) continually exclaiming at how frizzy and tangly it was which honestly I consider to be rather rude. She then gave it a basic trim after saying she would add in the layers that I wanted after it was dry. When the haircut came to an end she hadn?t put in any layers, and I had to pretty much force her to (something that has happened at every single haircut I?ve had) She continually commented on my styling routine, telling me to do it differently in the way that worked for her (even though her hair wasn?t curly). When I went home and tried it it was awful and didn?t work for my hair at all. She seemed to have never seen coily hair before. They are in no way curly specialists. They just happen to consider cutting curly hair occasionally. Unfortunately an all too common experience if you have curly hair, and to be honest I felt quite misled. I?m sure they have a lot of knowledge about hair care but I found the whole experience rather condescending and unnecessarily painful. Don?t waste your money here.

Beautiful salon, I was getting quite a significant hair cut but I felt reassured by my stylist Rachel who was lovely and cut it exactly the way I wanted. She made sure throughout that I was happy with it and it looks great! Thank you ?
