I recently had a disheartening experience at Cubitts that I feel compelled to share. Drawn in by the stylish design of their frames, I was hopeful for a high-quality product and service. Unfortunately, the reality was far from my expectations.Firstly, the lenses provided by Cubitts were of extremely poor quality. Despite their effort to tailor them to my prescription, the vision clarity was substantially lacking. Out of desperation, I even tried my husband's glasses, which had a different prescription, and found them to be more effective than the ones made specifically for me. This was a clear indication that something was fundamentally wrong with the lenses I received - although I went to their store explaining this and that something was going terribly wrong with my lenses. I was always told it was me that had to adapt to the lenses and now, after 2 weeks, it's as bad as on the first day.Moreover, I had an additional eye test at Cubitts, assuming that a reevaluation might resolve the issue. Yet, the outcome remained unchanged, with no improvement in the lens quality. The constant struggle to achieve clear vision with their glasses left me feeling incredibly dissatisfied.On top of this, and although I was told I was going to be refunded, I ended up paying for an extra eye test at their store in St James' and spending a lot of time and money to go 4 times to their shop in Brighton, in the now closed saga I had to go through with Cubitts.The essence of this issue lies not only in the substandard lenses but also in the discrepancy between Cubitts' perceived and actual service quality. They create an aura of professionalism and superiority over other optical stores, which, based on my experience, is a misleading representation. The primary allure of their store is the beautifully designed frames, but what value do these frames hold if they are paired with lenses that fail to provide clear vision?When I went to their store in St. James', there was one customer there complaining about the same thing and returning their glasses - clearly I am not the only one unhappy with the quality of the lenses.In conclusion, while the frames at Cubitts might be aesthetically pleasing, the core functionality of glasses ? to see clearly ? was severely compromised in my case. This experience has led me to question the overall quality of their products and the reliability of their service. I returned the glasses and hope to receive a refund soon and buy glasses from another store, but the inconvenience and disappointment I experienced prompt me to caution potential customers. Beautiful frames are meaningless if the lenses do not meet basic visual clarity standards.

Whilst on a visit to Brighton recently we called in because of a problem with my daughters glasses; they sorted it there and then and wouldn't even take anything. It was only a small thing, but it is actions like that that make all the difference and set businesses apart! Thank you!

What an absolutely brilliant experience with Thom and Joss today, it ended with me buying two pairs of glasses and a pair of sunglasses and I can't thank them enough for their professionalism, their knowledge and their upbeat personalities; It was a refreshing change from my old optician. Looking forward to introducing my husband and my mum to the brand.

Great experience, managed to get a last minute appointment, everyone in there was really friendly and helpful. Eye exam was really comprehensive and the optometrist was great. Got my glasses in under a week and they fit perfectly, service was great on pick up also! Highly recommend.

I can't fault the staff and service that I received at the Brighton branch of Cubitts. From the first moment of walking into the store to when I finally walked out with my first pair of glasses it was such a great and memorable experience. I went and got my eye test/prescription done at Specsavers, something I would fully recommend against. They gave me an incorrect prescription which I found out when I went and got my glasses from Cubitts. The Cubitts' staff were so supportive and actually talked me through my prescription and what could be wrong. After another eye test, this one done so much more thoroughly by the amazing optometrist at Cubitts, I had a new prescrition and a pair of glasses that didn't make me feel ill and actually allowed me to see properly for the first time in a long time! The staff are a credit to the company and I would (and do) fully recommend Cubitts to anyone looking for some new glasses.I haven't even mentioned the actual glasses in this review yet but they are great. The range they offer (in all different shapes, sizes and colours) almost guarantees finding exactly what you are looking for.Before needing glasses I had walked past this store so many times, thinking it looked 'posh' for an opticians but it is not expensive at all and so so much better than the standard high shops.There is complete night and day between a shop like Cubitts and a high street chain. I can't see anyone being disappointed by chosing Cubitts.Thank you again to all the staff

Lovely Staff but being let down. So far I've had form Cubitts Brighton;. an eye test - amazing, super clear and very helpful. existing frames updated with new lenses - as expensive as a brand new pair, lenses popped out and had to be replaced twice, also took over the 7-10 working days and never got an email to tell me they were in when first ordered. updated my existing sunglasses with prescription lenses. Super happy to hear it only costs £50. Diarised the 10th working day due to the previous experience. Still not there when I turned up to collect with no message to warn me and save a trip. Said they'd call the lab and get back to me, no call so popped in today and still not ready.. second pair of glasses, am left with zero confidence that they will be with me on time, that I will be contacted and have my expectations managed or that the quality will be good as per my previous experience (to be fair to them my original frames aren't something they carry any more).SUCH a shame as I really like the brand and the team in Brighton are nice.
