The furniture was nice but a lot for second hand stuff. What upset me was I asked one question to the woman in the shop today and she was immediately rude and condescending as I asked what the red stickers mean and she retorted that the ones which say ?sold? mean ?sold.? I hadn?t been looking at stickers that said sold, I?m not dumb, and I had been interested in a large cabinet which as it turns out was not sold, but I?ll find somewhere else! I work in retail too, no need for rudeness like that.

Clearly there seems to be an issue with what management are willing to accept, judging from these reviews. I booked a collection and while I was told that they were at liberty to decline items, I was taken aback when they declined everything. Including a brand new IKEA mattress used for several weeks, worth £280. If you are going to be this fussy can you please give some kind of warning or indication of what you are expecting. You wasted my time, my friend?s time (who had to be in for me as I was unavailable on your collection day) and tue fuel you used to get here. And your charity got nothing out of it too.

Absolutely horrendous experience with the two foreign "gentlemen" who came to pick up a broken bed bought from another store. Four weeks later, after our initial contact, the bed is collected and still waiting for re-payment. Passed from pillar to post, expected to dismantle it completely and return it to Hounslow, rude staff, people avoiding calls and emails at Head Office...what a nightmare!! Never again. Would rather buy online and have it made and delivered.

Refused to take a wardrobe that we bought from them in exactly the same condition as a year ago. Delusions of grandeur. Not recommended.

I have shopped at the Brighton London Roan store for a few years now and have normally found it to be a great happy store. But my most recent visit is one I will never forget. Chatting to a store colleague about donating a few bits and I was taken to the counter. The lady manager heard our conversation and very rudely and abruptly told me that they don?t want what I have to offer. I could not believe how I was spoken too and the poor colleague looked so emotionally drained and didn?t know what to do other than apologise. I told her that it was ok and I?m sure I will find a good home for my bits.I have no issue in my items not being wanted, but to be spoken to in that manner was just disrespectful, and to push her staff out of the way to do so even more so. It is without a doubt in my mind why the staff look as miserable as they do lately. I did come back a week later as I was in town looking around and could here the lady manager on the phone in the corner of the shop being irate with who ever was on the phone, surly this is 101 and you take the call off the shop floor. Please have a word with the lady as I think she needs a few more lessons in customer care and how to talk to people.

Very poor customer service. I will write a formal complaint. They declined perfectly good furniture donation for the most padantic reason. The item was happily accepted by a nearby charity.

Came in to the store on Sunday and found a lovely coffee table with no price attached, asked the very nice cashier how much it was and he said it had just come in so had no price yet. He then told me that because their internet system was down he couldn?t generate a price for me but could hold it for me until their internet is back up and running. I told him that I?d take the table no matter what the price was but he said he wouldn?t be able to put it through yet. So he added a note to the table with my name and details on.I rang back on Monday afternoon and the lady on the phone told me that the internet was still down so I still wouldn?t be able to make the purchase, I rang back today (Wednesday) and was told that the coffee table has now been sold! But I reserved it!? I kindly said this to the woman, the cashier from Sunday even stuck a note on it with my name and details!?We don?t do reservations? I was told by the lady on the phone. What a complete waste of time? Why even have the shop open if you can?t take payments for items? And why offer to reserve items for people if you?re just going to sell them on 2 days later!?

Nice stuffs but needs to work on delivery, my items were delivered twice because they forgot packing some parts, and still waiting for the third delivery due to same reason. Staffs need to be more patient on phone, one just told me," you need to change your attitude as I'm trying to help". Oh..you shouldn't expect me to laugh with you after making the same mistake twice. You sure have the receipt of all items bought with you, why not use that to avoid delivering wrong or incomplete items.

Walked in. Spotted an office chair. Brought office chair for £10. Wheeled that bad boi home. Nice. Staff are friendly and it's discounted goods for a good cause. You can't go wrong

Rude staff who clearly aren't arsed at all about doing their jobs. Sadly, it's far from the first time either. Really need to sort themselves out because they're damaging the charity they work for.
