Bit of an odd shop.
Varied prices, a bit like DFS - never ending sale of certain items. Some items more expensive than other shops.
Used changing room, absolutely filthy. Mentioned this to staff member.

Brilliant service in Brighton's best shop for outdoor kit. (There is a good choice of outdoor shops in Brighton but Blacks is the best.) Excellent selection of boots, clothes, rucksacks and equipment. We needed to buy two decent rucksacks and the manager, Harry was outstanding. He is extremely knowledgeable and was happy to take time to carefully explain what is best and why. Delighted to recommend the shop and the fantastic manager, Harry.

Temperature's dipping below zero degrees, I needed warmware that actually keeps me warm. Got talking to one staff member, who we discovered we both have metal implants, he went through all my options accordingly as I struggle to stay warm. Really useful advice, I tried on the suggested gloves and hat, and immediately felt the benefits. Much appreciated the friendly service, felt very attended to and bought items that will actually do the job!

I went in to Blacks Brighton looking for an 'all rounder' pair of walking boots that I could hike in but also could slip on with a pair of jeans on a city break (big ask I know). Alfie was fantastic at helping me, taking time to show me different options and giving me genuine and transparent advice (something I value a lot in sales people). He went out of his way to help me find the best set of boots within my budget and I'm genuinely very happy with my purchase! The boots are awesome quality for the price I paid.
