Having just moved down from Tunbridge Wells, we are slowly working our way around the various eateries in Bexhill. This gem of a place will certainly be a return visit for us in the future. We had the 1066 menu which was gloriously homely and the mash was to die for. Sean is great front of house with a great sense of humour which led to some very funny banter. Sharon's cooking was so good. Both mains (game pie and the Churdle pie were cooked to perfection) and we shared a cheeseboard of local cheeses which again, was really good. Only knocked a star off the atmosphere because I think the music could be turned up a smidge. Highly recommend and we will be back.

What a joy! A proper family run bistro, with great food, unfancy furnishings, and relaxed vibes (great playlist if you like the classic light bluesy/jazz stuff). Simple wine list - the white, rose and red all come from the same organic producer in Spain, so no choice problems. Our combination of pigeon breast, mackerel pate, field mushrooms with salad from their allotment, and hearty beef bourguignon, with mash, carrots onions and deep gravy all in the high scores out of 10. No room for pud, apart from a palate cleansing mouthful of two of coffee ice-cream, without their homemade coffee syrup. You've got to go!

Another delightful Sunday lunch at the Wickham Bistro, Bexhill's hidden delight on Wickham Avenue (so not so hidden lol)! Owners and Chefs, Sean & Sharon are delightful , welcoming their guests with a hospitality of a bygone era. Delicious home grown, scratch prepared roasts and puddings for every palette and dietary requirement await in the friendliest of atmospheres. I highly recommend the Rhubarb fool with warm fresh shortbread- truly scrumptious!

Super cozy little restaurant!! Highly recommended. ?
Personal treatment, home-cooked food, fine service and a very good atmosphere. Still not particularly expensive.
The rhubarb dessert was absolutely amazing!
The only thing is that they don't take cards - so bring cash.
Vegetarian options: There were some good vegetarian options. I am not a vegetarian but liked the African stew.

My wife and I took a friend out for Sunday lunch (on 10/12) at the Bistro and had a great time - the 'feel' of the place was very welcoming, as were the staff and the food was great. We live in the Midlands (our friend lives in Bexhill but wasn't aware of the Bistro) and booked, based on other reviews that we had seen on TripAdvisor and we were not disappointed - thank you Wickham Bistro!
