We have been to several concernts and shows at the Pavillion and it is a great venue. Today we visited the pleasant first floor cafe and I would like to have given it four stars but the £8.50 sandwich (with a small piece of cotton included) and the rather dry (and thick) bread was not the greatest snack I have ever had. My companion's soup turned out to be disappointingly bland. So £23 for a sandwich, a soup (and more dry bread) and two Cokes seemed on the steep side.

It was a Ryanair experience at the De La Warr last Thursday. I never thought seats could have less leg room and be more uncomfortable that those of that infamous carrier but the De La Warr managed it. I noticed they had two paramedics on standby and I now know why - medical side effects from sitting on those seats for three hours!
It did detract from the gig as I was in real pain, as were others. I noticed people fidgeting and shuffling, trying to arrange their legs in a more comfortable position. At one point I thought I'd have to get up and stand at the back, but the thought of actually managing to prise myself out of this very low seat without the assistance of a crane, meant I endured this torture for the remainder of the concert.
The gig was excellent, as was the pre-gig meal and the staff are lovely. I normally love this venue but I won't be back until they install regular seating. These were temporary seats whilst they remodelled the auditorium.

Want to see a band there. Everything was good but my wife and I sat in the stools and they are the worst seats I have ever sat on for a gig. I won't be coming back for any future gigs unfortunately.

Was here Saturday night 08/03/25 for the Jack Savoretti gig 10/10.
but for the organised carious outside for doors opening, people standing with walking sticks and crutches had to stand in line as well.
for information requesting for up and coming events assistant didn't have a clue...
For a lot of us who ordered on line, had to line up again at the box office/shop area...this would have been more of a flow if the shop part was open before.....security inside the hall was very poor also could have done with more seating around the venue for the elderly 1/10
Water Cooler wasn't working, very hot in the venue.
As the advertising around the venue was very poor, i won't be rushing back.

Poor experience to a recent visit to watch a band.
Venue is not set up or equipped as a serious music venue.
The only bar is upstairs and impractical for people on the ground floor. Water bottles bought at the bar were not allowed in the auditorium because they are a trip hazard. Their words not mine. But the hundreds of plastic cups discarded everywhere in the auditorium due to a complete lack of bins obviously aren't!!!
And no sooner had the music ended you are hearded out by overzealous site security.
Extremely dissapointed. Certainly will not be visiting again.

We were to see from the Jam at DLP. Parking really expensive at £5.40 for the time of the concert with no reduction for disabled parking this most people were forced to park in the streets which is no good for the neighbours. Any very off putting, it's not as if there is decent public transport as an option Also £6.50 per pint is London prices not Bexhill prices... Concert was good but DLP was not honest and telling people that Rick Bucknell, the last remaining Jam member would not be playing due to ill health. This should have been announced so that people had options to cancel their tickets? Even on the day of the concert the DLP Webb site doesn't say he wouldn't be playing. Not sure how the advertising standards would view this. Therefore £36 for a cover band was too steep in my view....

We had some nice tea and cakes in the upstairs café. The prices were semi-reasonable but what I would expect to pay for a seaside café.
There was a good selection of GF and vegan cakes too, however I didn't sample any of them so cannot comment on their taste or quality but they appeared good.
The café was fairly busy but the line moved quickly enough and we managed to find seats pretty easy.
The view of the sea while enjoying our food and beverages was a nice addition.
We also visited the free art exhibition downstairs, this was interesting but nothing overwhelming. I'm glad it was free to be honest, I would have been disappointed to pay and see it.
My only real main negative was that the lift was out of service and there was no alternate lift for patrons, not even a service one. So wheelchair or mobility scooter users literally had no way upstairs to visit the café and had to leave. We had a pram for our youngest, but lucky for us we can carry this upstairs.
If you're visiting the beach, I'd recommend stopping at the café for a break.

Food was not great, and although service and atmospere were good the food got the place down. The food was ordinary. Shame because it used to be a great place.

I like the De La Warr Pavilion because it represents Bexhill very well. It?s a tad tatty round the edges but has a big community heart centred on music, community and the arts. I do wish they did more arts based courses/classes for adults. The exhibition space is small. Cafe is good, lunch menu pricey but veggie and gluten free catered for and worth it for the views out to sea.
