My fiancee and I had a fantastic time here.
We were just planning on having a couple of drinks. Then we realised that they do a daily roast. I had the daily roast and my fiancee had the pork belly. The portions of food were generous to say the least. The quality of the food was outstanding. Our compliments to the chef and staff who went above and beyond to make our visit welcome. Very friendly and pleasant atmosphere. And a big thank you to Tony for his impromptu taxi service that evening back to the Beech estate.
We live around 35 miles away but will most definitely be dropping back again. Many thanks.

We came in for lunch today and was so disappointed, we came in because this place has some good reviews so was really shocked when we received our food. Both my partner and myself went for the roasts which was the worst we have ever have, the potato?s tasted as if they had been warmed up in the microwave and were hard, ( mine even had a dead fly on) we had the smallest amount of plain hardly cooked veggies, even though the menu stated roasted in duck fat vegetables. The man behind the bar was rude and didn?t really want to hear what I had to say, he thought I was only complaining because the meat was beef was rare ( which I hadn?t been made aware of ), but this wasn?t the only reason but didn?t really give me a chance to explain. We go out regularly for meals and we don?t like to complain, but this was really disappointing and even more disappointing when the staff are rude. The staff offered to take £10 off which I wasn?t happy with considering the roasts were £19 each, He eventually agreed to take the full price of my meal off the price but it shouldn?t have been this difficult in the first place.

We booked the Squirrel for a family meal (24 of us) on Monday 18th August. We were seating in the outdoor / indoor function space. We had 2 tables of 12. We pre ordered our food and had individual tabs per smaller family groups. The food was lovely, great portion sizes and hot on arrival. The children were all served first followed by the adults. The staff were attentive and on hand if needed. Service was checked throughout the afternoon. To get 24 meals all correct with no issues was just amazing. The children enjoyed the garden space and played in between courses. Pudding was ordered on the day again a good selection and they were lovely.
We booked because of the space and you didn?t disappoint. Thank you for a lovely afternoon.

A great place to have a good local beer with tasty food. Step inside and feel you have come to the right place. Very popular judging from the amount of cars parked outside and the happy relaxed atmosphere.

Stopped here for lunch without a reservation.Good atmosphere in the main pub area which was full but we were seated at the back in the quieter area where there were only two other people, although more customers came in after us.
We had fish (haddock) and chips served with mushy peas and bread/butter and chicken curry with rice and flatbread.
Good size portions without being too big. Flatbread a bit greasy, not sure it was necessary really, but lots of chicken in a tasty sauce. Served by two lovely ladies and a delightful Italian work experience student.
Will definitely revisit. You really need to book even on a Tuesday lunchtime.

Really lovely roast dinner. Sat out under the large canopy as we had dogs with us lots of space. Great service too.

Good honest pub food. Not a la carte but then that's not what you go for. Waitress and bar staff very friendly. It was a quiet mid week lunch but ticking over nicely. Table service outside was very good.

My wife and myself where here Saturday 5th July 2025.staff where good,could be a little more cheerful.
Three lady's came in at about 12.40.and apologised for being late by ten minutes owing to traffic.a guy who we found out was the manager was so cold with these three lady's.and one member of stuff said we are expecting to be busy.so what.
Food was ok but overpriced
Staff ok could be better, as a service charge is on the bill.
Tip for the manager,smile and stop belating the public that walk into the place.
We won't be back as I am sure neither will those three lady's.

Absolutely fantastic place. Food was amazing, & not shy on there portions. Staff are polite & friendly.

Lovely meal, excellent service. Pity we were the only table to have very hard wooden chairs with no seat cushions; for elderly bones, not ideal. All other tables had comfy leather chairs.
