We've been to several family events now and always had first class service. Friendly, helpful staff, lovely, well presented food, clean toilets. The grounds are stunning with birds, including peacocks, pond, streams and bridges. Highly recommended.

Had a 2 night and dinner secret escape bought for us as a present great choice. Lovely character hotel (saw the peacocks) would have explored the grounds but we had lots of rain during our stay. Nice big room with sofa and many charming lounge areas to use. Opted for the steak for diner which was great and done as requested the Merlot was good also. Cooked breakfast was good with options for veggie and vegan as well as the full English which I had. We also visited a local vineyard during our stay.

That this was our third short stay says enough. This is a classic old house hotel with a log fire to greet you in the entrance hall and several public sitting rooms with comfortable traditional furniture.Everyone smiles, queries etc are dealt with promptly. Nothing is too much bother.Located in beautiful grounds, among lakes and trees complete with peacocks. The food is excellent.Love it - will return.Rooms: Very clean and cleaned each day

Just spent the weekend here for a friend's 60th. Beautiful hotel, amazing grounds (the peacocks!), comfortable (if a little small) rooms, fabulous food, super friendly and attentive staff. The private function area was great. Recommended.

I used to love popping over to Powdermills for a drink or a meal, but it seems we're not welcome anymore. Large boards declaring 'no public access' at the back entrance. Gate doubly locked. Anyway, last time I went for the fish option and the fish appeared to have come out of a freezer, was overdone and rubbery. So not much lost.

We only stayed for one night, but we'll definitely be returning as we absolutely loved it. Beautiful setting, great food and service. Love the fact that it's dog friendly. Only marked the room down because it was dark. Bed was very comfortable, bathroom not quite spotless, but plenty good enough for

I absolutely love this hotel with its amazing team , comfortable rooms, and very tasty food. Nothing seems to be too much as far as guests comfort is concerned and when we had a very nice meal in the restaurant I mentioned it was my parents 40th Anniversary, at the end of the meal they came out with a plate with Happy Anniversary piped in icing with an assortment of chocolates ! I would like to add that Jack at breakfast was really polite, helpful and very good at his job, Stefan was also a good host at dinner the night before and the lady who was also working with him, sorry I didn't get your name but you definitely deserve a mention for your cheerful way and humour, thank you to everyone who works at the hotel, especially the people behind the scenes

An excellent choice for a couple of nights away with friends. If you choose to stay there make sure that you allocate time to walk around the grounds, especially around the lake. A magical setting.
