What can I say the team here was amazing! especially Kerry who I was in constant contact with leading up to our wedding. I got married last week, everything was just perfect and the venue was stunning! perfect for people with families you have all the space not just inside but all the garden space too! the rooms were beautiful! every family member and friend said how perfect it was so thank you Team Claverton for the best day of our lives! x Kristie & John

I checked into this hotel last minute when on business and my booking elsewhere had failed. Arriving late, staff could not have been more accommodating. Only slight inconvenience was that breakfast was later than I would have liked, so wasn't able to eat before leaving int he morning. The hotel itself seems like a family home and is very relaxed. Comfortable room. Quiet setting.

Stayed while on business in the local area. Arrived to a very quite hotel so manage to park next to the entrance. Quickly checked in & the room was great. Bit rough around the edges in places with damage to a few walls. The blind over the big double doors wasn't wide enough to fully block the sun so room is bright even when closed. Bed is comfy which is always good. Ate on site which was very good. Came quickly & was extremely hot when it arrived, what you want to see. Had a shower & found there was no large towels to be had. Plenty of small ones but not one bath towel Which seemed odd. However had a great nights sleep & breakfast was also pretty good. Overall, a great stay.

The hotel has some character with pleasant surroundings and a good location for exploring Hastings, Battle and the surrounding areas. On the negative side though, it is not easy to walk from the hotel and so needs to start with a drive each day. The room we had was spacious, clean and comfortable. The bathroom was not in a modern style and, as always, could do with a refresh but any hotel with older style bathrooms are the same.
Breakfast was good enough for us and the bar was more of a lounge area than a real bar with drinks being brought from the kitchen on demand. Still it was nice enough to wind down after a busy day.

We stayed here in the winter when the grounds were not looking their best, but I think it would look lovely in the spring and summer months if you want a romantic setting.

Claverton Hotel, Kent Street. Lovely setting,room, breakfast and staff. Signposted well and suitable for access to amenities in the area. Will return again.

We enjoyed our stay on 16th November 2024. Welcoming staff, accomodation excellent. We enjoyed the food and quality of service. Excellent location as we visited Carr & Taylors vineyard in Westfield. As we departed on 17th November, we enjoyed the Christmas charity craft fayre with excellent local stall holders who were raising funds for local animal charity. The Claverton is an excellent hub for community events and stay. Highly recommend it to everyone.

Inexperienced and untrained staff. Waitress didn't know how to make a Gin and tonic. No water for shower in the morning and inaccurate billing.

We were staying nearby and walked in after seeing on there website they have a beer garden and do food.
We had a lovely afternoon, will definitely be returning for an overnight stay

Very disappointed with the Claverton , my friend booked a meal a few weeks back for 20th July. We had a taxi booked & was looking forward to it , my friend got a text on 17th saying we have tried to call you ( she had no missed calls on her phone) we are cancelling your booking on 20th could you let us know you have received this text. She rang them up to ask what was going on and was informed by a rather abrupt person that they had a wedding, I can only presume this was booked long before we booked our table so why take our booking then let us know only a few days before that it is cancelled. Needless to say we will not be returning.

We waren hier 13 jaar geleden en omdat het toen zo fantastisch goed meegevallen was, wilden we hier nog eens terugkomen.
Groot was onze ontgoocheling toen we niet meer persoonlijk onthaald werden zoals voorheen (met een drankje en een hapje).
We kregen niet echt een duidelijk alternatief aangeboden om te gaan eten (hun restaurant is zondag gesloten).
Het (onervaren) meisje achter de balie mist nog een goede opleiding.
Het was fijn om in de zonovergoten Biergarten te zitten, maar de prijs voor een drankje was veel te hoog!! De tuin was wel nog altijd mooi verzorgd.
De nieuwe kamers waren wel functioneel, maar misten enkele belangrijke details (zoals Kleenex, douchekapje, een frigo die al aanstaat met bv 2 flesjes water in, een reserverol wc-papier (liefst steviger),?)
In de smalle badkamer was de wasbak veel te klein, waardoor het telkens nat was op de grond.
We stelden al onze hoop in het ontbijt, maar het meisje dat hiervoor moest zorgen, bleek nog meer scholing nodig te hebben dan deze aan het onthaal. De porties bleken gerantsoeneerd. Zo was er geen yoghurt meer en moesten we meer dan een half uur wachten op croissant/koeken/broodje die bij ons gekozen continentaal ontbijt hoorden. De croissant hebben we nooit gezien en een grote pot melk en een pot heet water bestellen, bleek een onoverkomelijk probleem te zijn waardoor we door de lange intervallen koude koffie moesten drinken en telkens op toasts moesten wachten want die werden ook slechts met mondjesmaat gebracht).
We kregen ook niet exact wat we besteld hadden ondanks 2 x herhaald te hebben: bv. tomaten ontbraken.
De productkennis ontbrak duidelijk bij het meisje?
Voor de prijs die we hier betaald hebben, hadden we een betere service en betere kwaliteit verwacht. Voor dat bedrag hadden we wel een betere accommodatie gevonden?
We hadden liever 5 sterren gegeven maar de ontgoocheling was te groot

Had my sons engagement party at this lovely place. Staff were helpful, and we all had a lovely time.
