I popped in for a pint a little while ago and then took a punt on the food last night. The old pub garden is well kept and pretty with the inside being just as nice.
What a little gem. The staff were really friendly. The food was the best pub food I have had in a long time. I had the steak and ale pie which was home made and soooo good. Kids food and portion were great too.
No worries to be had about portion size. Im stll full this morning.
Nice pint to go with it too.
The price was very fair.
Our new favourite I think.
We will be back soon.

For a pretty country pub we thought the choice of light bites was very good. The good was extremely tasty, good value and served quickly. We sat in the garden as it was a good day but I would gave liked to have tidied some of the borders and the hedge. That's why there are only 4 stars. Everything else is great.

The food was generally served terrible, salad was dirty and gone off in parts, scampi was not real fish but frozen reconstituted fake prawn and gone off and gave my partner instant diarrhoea even though he only ate 3.

Only gave 4* due to toilets. Basically clean but a bit tired and hand dryer was very weak. Good was lovely and service, very friendly and efficient. It was busy but they managed to fit is in.

We had a lovely evening in this wonderful country pub. The food was very good and we had top notch service from all the staff, who were very warm and friendly, as well as polite and attentive.
The food choices were more than enough for our party of 5. Starters were enjoyed by some of us, Whitebait, Prawn Cocktail, and Pork Belly Cubes, were all enjoyed. For mains, two had the Sussex Smokie, one the Pulled Brisket Burger, another the Cod and Chips and I had Thai Green Curry. Rounded off with Banoffee pie and Berry Brulee. All delicious.
One of the best evenings in one of the best pubs we've visited this year and last year for that matter. Will definitely be going back soon.

Lovely old country pub. Sat outside, busy, popular. Sunday lunch a little disappointing. Lots of it but roast potatoes soft, crackling too hard to chew and no apple sauce with pork

Didn?t have the pleasure if eating here but it looked good. The Harveys from the cask in the tap room was exceptional a perfect traditional ale. Super friendly lively atmosphere.

The food here was unreal, this is definitely the best spot in the area. Very cozy and cute, the menu has so much variety. I love it when they do specials and i enjoyed every bit of it. Locally sourced lamb was tender and i would definitely come back and tru the roast some point.
