Stayed in master Suite, grubby and in need of tlc! Lot of mould, hole in ceiling, wall light falling off, bathroom door did not close, poor lighting, tv wonky ?. I could go on? never again! Would not recommend, see photosRooms: Shower mouldy and bath full of watermarks, if you have a copper bath at least clean it!

An update 14/03/24. Called in this evening to share a few pints with friends. Pub and restaurant were moderately busy. We saw food being served in the bar which looked really good.We decided to sample the "own label" ale of the F&C. I believe it is actually rebranded Sleck dust. It was a good pint and at £3.50 all three of us stayed with this choice for the evening. The pub was warm, comfortable and welcoming.----A cold winter's day, warming fire, good pint of ale, good food. Can't be beaten.Called in for lunch, sat by the fire. I had home made fish finger sandwich with the freshest white crusty bread. My wife had garlic mushrooms on toasted sourdough. Both excellent. Really good ale. Memorable!

Had dinner here. It has a great atmosphere and ambience. The food and service were good. Slight negatives while located in the village high street which is handy if local, for those like us who dive there parking both on street and in the inn's car park is limited. Also quite busy midweek so recommend booking in advance.

Four of us went for an evening meal and it was lovely. The service was a bit patchy but we put it down to the fact they were young waiters/waitresses.The food was excellent though and the atmosphere was great.Would definitely go again.

We went to the Fox And Coney for lunch yesterday. On arrival we found that the booking had been mixed up and instead of seating us in the library where we could take our dogs, we were seated in the main restaurant. Given it had been made clear on booking that we had dogs, this was not a good start. A very nice group who were seated in the library, with no dogs, kindly agreed to change places. Otherwise we would have left. The staff were helpful, pleasant and efficient but the food was not good. After waiting over 40 minutes for our main courses we were mostly disappointed with the quality of food. Three of us had roast beef which was very tough and we could hardly cut it, although the rest of the plate was tasty. One had a tasteless bacon chop with an overdone fried egg, and burnt black pudding and potato hash, the steak pie was poor quality and dry. We will not be going back.

I met a friend there. We sat in the bar and were clearly the first people in for lunch but the seat had crumbs on it and the table felt sticky. We just ordered light bites the food was nice but a portion of chips was £5 and rather small. I won't rush back.

Lovely food, efficient service and a relaxed environment. We enjoyed a lazy lunch on a Saturday, it was busy but the seating is nicely spaced out, so you have plenty of room and the kitchen coped well and we weren't kept waiting long.Food & drinks: Excellent food, lovely menu.

Fox and coney has always served us well. Not a chain pub so great home made food and great beer.

One of our favourite local pubs. Great food and always a good selection of real ales.

The Fox and Coney is a really nice traditional village pub. There is a nice large front bar which is quite cozy. There is a wide choice of beers lager and ciders including some excellent cask conditioned hand pulled real ales. The real ale was perfect when i visited. At the back of the pub is a large dining room which was very busy when I called in, the pub has a very good reputation for its meals. I didn't have any food but I checked out the menu, and I will definitely be back with the family for something to eat. The staff are very friendly, there's a nice outside covered seating area and car park to the rear.Food & drinks: Excellent choice of beers, larger and wine.

All food outstanding. The best chicken keivi ever had. Plus husband steak pie was outstanding moulded pastry dish with shortcrust pastry, then tender tasty steak and gravy.
