We visited Langlands this week for lunch and decided to have lasagne with chips salad and garlic bread for a change..what an excellent choice will be ordering it again as it was without doubt the best meal i have had at Langlands..We visit Langlands for lunch weekly and have read the poor reviews on here recently and have agreed with many of them..but i think praise is due when its earned and the lasagne this week was very good..

It's not a restaurant. Morrisons cafe is far superior to this place. We ordered sausage and mash in large Yorkshire pudding with steamed vegetables. Got 3 small sausages, 2 of which were overcooked and rock hard on both meals. Steamed veg were a few bits of cauliflower and hard carrots which were frozen not fresh. Yorkshire pudding was also hard. Staff no problems in sorting out the issues. Meal returned 10 minutes later with an improvement on the sausages but had now got just a load of rock hard sprouts in place of the previous veg. The only decent item were the mash. Bear in mind this simple meal cost £12 each! Didn't have time to raise further issues and left. Think they get their customers like us that wanted something to eat while we were at the garden centre. Don't go as you will be disappointed and out of pocket.

I think it?s disgusting that I can witness a staff member being verbally abused by another member of staff in the restaurant, while I?m trying to enjoy a thoroughly overpriced breakfast. What a god damn disgrace. Poor girl that was being abused should be given a raise and the other woman sacked on the spot. Piss poor management all around.

Sadly it's up for sale and no doubt it will be bought by a huge garden centre firm. Its truly a lovely independent garden centre with usually nice food. I feels like the owners have lost interest now.

Very disappointing. Pork was good. Roasts were burnt in places. Veggies were only parsnips and black carrot. I mean 1 blak carrot . Gravy was coloured water,no flavour and no texture. With a bit of thought some stuffing and perhaps apple sauce would have added a bit of sparkle to a very uninspiring meal. Husband had meat pie, hooray it had some pastry on. But was letdown by the watery gravy and the fact was told we don?t do mushy peas on a Sunday so why have them on the menu . Never again.awful

Super garden centre but horrendous service in the cafe. Have never ever been and had quick service. Staff very nice but service horrendous. Waiting ages in the queue for a cup of tea.

We have been to Langlands many times on a regular basis. The food used to be exceptional for a garden centre, always busy most days. After the lockdown the meals have not been the same, it's not as busy as it once was, which speaks volumes. We and many more customers complained about the chips and to give the cafe credit, they listened and the chips now are outstanding. The last 3 times we have been, my friend loves his steak pie, but, every time the pastry is so thin, you could see through it if you held it up, this is steak pie without the pie basically. I hope they improve on this because many people just go for the pie, if not then I can see them losing more custom. If when we go again and the pastry is like this, we will be sending it back. It's not good enough for the price we pay.

We have often driven past Langlands cafe and garden centre, but we only decided to visit it for the first time - purely on the spur of the moment - during our latest journey through the area. On arrival, we found the restaurant clean and well appointed. As there is a separate coffee shop for hot drinks/cakes etc, we were able to place our breakfast food/drink orders quickly and, given that all dishes are freshly prepared to order, everything was brought out to us in a very reasonable timescale. The standard of the food was excellent while also being very sensibly priced. We will definitely be visiting again next time we are passing through the area. In the interim, we would have no hesitation in recommending Langlands to others.

I had a very enjoyable brunch with friends recently. The staff were polite, kind and nothing was too much trouble. The food was tasty and there was a wide variety of food on the menu. Well done to all the staff who were working their socks off. I think they need a pay rise!!

We sat in the restaurant's outside space and enjoyed a delicious cooked breakfast. The staff were extremely friendly and efficient. There was a very good choice of breakfast options and my cappuccino was lovely.

ABSOLUTE CHAOS!! We have just queued for 35mins just to order food! We have been told there is now a 40 min wait to get the food! The staff system behind the counter is chaotic to say the least no one seems to have a delineated role. This place need a competent manager to organise the staff. When you have one person on the till who is also making drinks and taking orders plus getting fresh Pots from the kitchen and multiple other tasks, then you have a recipe for disaster.... That is precisely what they have here. If this happend in any other industry a p45 would be swiftly delivered!! We came on a recommendation... we won't be coming again and I suggest you don't either!!

I didnt even want to feed it to my dogs. Absolutely terrible? And all for a low price of £18?. Wont be coming back. Embarrassing.

How I echo the previous reviews, reference the delays in ordering. Attended the classic car meet first and then into the garden centre for shopping and refreshments. Queued behind a gentleman who had already placed his order, so naturally thought another couple of minutes waiting. oh no! 10 minutes later and still hadn't been served, in spite of the number of staff present who just couldn't care less, pretending to look busy, but actually doing nothing. Returned all our shopping to their respective origins and left, never to return. Doesn't anyone care anymore?

The service in the restaurants and cafe is shocking. We had to queue for 20minutes just place an order for food and then waited 35min for it to be served. No one can make a good cup of coffee, all the servers look like they don?t know what they?re doing and the systems and way they all work is just really inefficient. Couldn?t help but get annoyed about it all. Made worse seeing one member of staff just stood around doing nothing and another just tidying up menus whilst the queue got bigger and bigger. Never again. Management need to train their staff properly and put a proper system in place. Employ one person just to do hot drinks because that where all the delay in ordering is.

Frequently visit the restaurant but every visit over the last few months has got worse each time. Kept giving the place another chance as either it was convenient to meet friends there or thought maybe they were just having an off day but it seems its every time now. Today finally made me realise just how bad its got. Went for Sunday lunch and it was absolutely terrible! Requested some horse radish sauce as we were having beef when paying for the meal. The waiter brought out a bowl of veg which all looked like it had been warmed up from last week it was so dry and old looking. The Brocoli was grey in places! Hospital food looks better. That was sat there going cold whilst we waited for the rest of the meal to be brought out. Finally they brought the plates of meat out with the Yorkshire pudding and roast potatoes. There was 2 small slices of meat on two of the plates, I've had child portions before there with more meat. The third plate had a bit more meat but not a good amount like they used to serve. The roast potatoes were rock hard! Everything lukewarm!! Horse radish sauce didn't appear so after a few minutes I went back to the till and asked again for some. Went back to the table and started to eat some of the meal because it was just about stone cold by this point. After eating half the meal, still no sign of the horse radish sauce so made another trip to the till to ask for a 3rd time for it. There was a woman sorting orders, long hair in a pony tail, I think she could be the restaurant supervisor or something. I said how disappointed we were with the meal and the reasons why and she just shrugged her shoulders and said oh sorry about that and turned away. Rude!! No customer service skills at all. They can't even say it was because they were busy because I've never seen the place so empty on a Sunday could be due to the football being on or maybe a lot of people are now stopping going because the quality is becoming so poor but expensive because they seem to constantly increase their prices but the quality of food and service decreases every time! So very disappointing as it used to be nice.
