I ordered fish & chips £12.50 while my wife wanted a small fish & chips at £9.50. The batter on both servings was undercooked being very soggy under the top layer. On paying the bill I was charged an extra £2 on my wife?s meal. When questioned I was told because of the fish, I had no idea what that referred to but let it go. Staff were good but looked overstretched. Nice atmosphere and well laid out tables. Just managed to get last parking space.

I drive past this place on a regular basis, and a friend suggested meeting for lunch, what a little gem ?.
Food was delicious, great atmosphere and great service, can highly recommend ?

Enjoyed a really lovely meal here today: the halloumi skillet was absolutely delicious. Other members of the party had chilli and lime salmon and king prawn skillet, and fish and chips. We were all impressed with the quality and flavour of the food, it was superb.
The staff were very friendly.
Would highly recommend.
Compliments to the chef, and all the staff, and thank you all for a lovely lunch.

I don?t usually write reviews but had a horrendous experience for a family meal celebrating a birthday. We had pre booked in advance and said it was a birthday meal for 6 of us. We arrived & it was very busy, we were made up a table in the bar area which was boiling, being pregnant I found this uncomfortable and went and found a member of staff in the restaurant area and politely explained & as there had been 3 empty large tables, could we move. The waitress was rude, snapped back that they were very busy and would have to get her manager. This lady was also then rude at the table when we asked after 20 mins could we order drinks. I appreciate it?s a busy Sunday but that?s not our fault and we approached with politeness understanding it was busy.
The manager was lovely and explained they were struggling for tables as busy- why take on the booking if you can?t accommodate with the correct level of service. We waited 50 mins to have our food order taken by which time the roasts had all sold out.
It was gone 8pm before we had any food, with a 6 year old absolutely starving, whose food came out last.
I had lukewarm food, not great at all especially being pregnant. Nobody came to ask if our food was ok and at this point we had all had enough.
We didn?t bother with any deserts and left. We did politely express our disappointment on leaving, although the manager apologised our experience was ruined.
Two members of the party took ill after leaving. We don?t get to be all together often and was a special occasion we felt was ruined and for quite a large amount that was spent. I?m not sure we would come back or recommend which is such as shame as we have been twice before as a couple hence why we chose to celebrate there again.
To add insult to injury not all of the large tables in the restaurant even got used in the end so we could have been swapped and moved. Being pregnant it was just too hot and uncomfortable eating in the bar area.

The welcome, service and food was lovely. The blacksmith arms came as a recommendation, well worth the drive to visit.

The pub itself is lovely..me and my partner have been three times and the food has been delightful and very rich (which may not always be people?s taste). However there is one particular young male staff member who has served us every time has had a ?I?d rather not be here or speak to customers? attitude and it seems to make the atmosphere very uncomfortable, seems happy to talk to the staff behind the bar but as soon as me and my partner have approached the bar for a table we?ve been met with nothing but a rude attitude
