Popped in while in the area ( rented cottage in Ottringham). Coffee and bacon/egg sandwich. Had dog with us so used shelter outside. No heating but out of the rain. Pleasant staff who told us about local attraction ,Constable Mausoleum. Parked car , walked around the ponds with dog and up to Mausoleum and All Saints Church. Pleasant couple of hours spent.

My wife and I had steak and ale pie, potato wedges and mixed vegetables all of which were cooked to perfection. The pie was the best I have eaten for years. Friendly customer focused staff. Also we had latte coffee, apple and sultana cake, Maltese cake outside with Bryn and Ruby, our dogs as nice day. Bought a pasty home for tea and going back later in week for full English, its that good and fairly priced for the "quality package" offered (atmosphere, staff, surroundings, tasty food etc...). Thank you.

Stopped by on a bike ride with my husband. Lovely place, nice and peaceful. Had a coffee and cake. The cake was homemade and fantastic. We had the Pecan and white chocolate brownie. Service was excellent. Prices not bad. Highly recommended will revisit.

We were in the area walking the Humber Bank and visiting Ottringham church so we popped in for a cuppa and cake. Delicious and light Victoria Sponge. Fast friendly service, a delightful building and picnic benches overlooking the lake. We will return.

We have been visiting this cafe for several months, we use it regularly for a coffee stop on cycle rides and walks. The coffee and homemade cakes are excellent. Breakfasts are excellent, cooked to order and great value. Try the bacon and egg butty, They do a great range of home cooked lunches, which are always freshly made with local fresh produce and very tasty. The staff really go the extra mile to accommodate everybody, and are very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this cafe to anybody who is looking for somewhere for a coffee stop or a pleasant lunchtime treat

Visited Halsham Waterside on a friends recommendation for good food. The food was good, wholesome, hot out of the microwave and tasty for all that. However, do not be fooled into thinking this is a place that?s accessible for ALL disabled persons, even if you ring beforehand to check as I did. I was told - ?yes, we have wide doors (the front door was a tad wider than usual by a few inches but couldn?t open fully back AND it had a second section which could also be opened? but not fully and they had no key), we have ramps too so we?re fully accessible.? My proper mobility scooter (not one that can be stacked in your boot) had to be left outside the door and, on leaving, had to be reversed all the way down their ramp. It was just as well though as, had it made it inside, it would not have made it through the second door into the dining area and certainly not to the furthest table away in the corner. If you just have a small wheelchair or you have a three-wheeled rollator, as one diner had tucked under their table, you would probably have been OK. But, if you are on a scooter, you have to traverse the pebbled car park to the ramp and be able to get through normal sized doors with it on an angle; then weave through tables or eat alone at a table brought out especially for you into the vestibule. Now, the food is good enough. We had burgers and a steak pie (no ale was discerned and the pastry was a little hard) the dishes came with salad (burger) and veg (pie). We followed with cherry flan and sticky toffee pudding which was OK. The jug for the custard was the loveliest little thing. We also had drinks of Coca Cola one of which was cast into my lap by the server when clearing. My top and trousers were soaked through, now we know why the table coverings were plastic. The server was mortified by their clumsiness and couldn?t apologise enough. Though it did seem to be enough for them because there was no deduction in our £54+ bill when we came to leave. Obviously we will not be returning, we will try a pub next time. PS we do have to say though that the geese on the pond and the view out of the window was lovely but not worth a soaking and £54.
