Attended after a funeral after one of our locals in the village had passed away .
The village came together to celebrate the life of a true gentleman
The staff worked very hard considering the amount of people
Great atmosphere ? on what was a sad day for the community
Well done The Bell and rest easy Jake

The 2 old women who serve behind the bar are wholly unwelcoming and seriously rude.
If you dislike your job and people that much, then you shouldn?t be working in a village pub that aspires to be friendly.
If you want a great example of that, try The Watts Arms in Ottringham (next village) - super friendly pub - everyone is genuinely friendly, even if they?ve never met you before.
There are some ?regulars? in there (eg the tall guy with ginger hair) who apparently always cause trouble for others when they are in.
Sadly, that is correct, and not isolated to him alone.
Feel sorry for Darren (owner), as he?s great - even when you are having to hold him up (when he?s battered).
Xenophobic, unfriendly village pub.

The blue bell is a traditional local on the main street. A drinking pub, not a food pub. There is a good range of beers larger and cider, including hand-pulled cask conditioned real ale, which was in excellent condition when I called in. There is no car park but free on street parking nearby.Vegetarian options: Not a food pub.Dietary restrictions: Food is not available.Parking: Free on street parking near the pub.Wheelchair accessibility: The entrance is flat but narrow, and the pub is all on one level.

We went with friends for Sunday lunch. They don't have the Sunday roast or carvery like a lot of places, but this didn't bother us as we are not massive fans of carveries. Three had steaks, and one had the large gammon. They were all very good. The service was good considering they were quite busy. Will go back.

Darren the owner is lovely but the 2 women behind the bar are rude, miserable not welcoming. Won?t be going back in whilst they work there. Don?t work there if you don?t like people your in the wrong job ladies. Such a shame for a village pub. The old women likes to close the pub early on a Saturday night at 10.30 so she can go to bed at 11 after her jack daniels and coke. WTF ridiculous.
