Shocking experience. One staff member on duty in a busy station shop, and he point-blank refused to serve anyone because it?s now supposedly ?self-service only.? An elderly lady was clearly struggling with the one and only self-service till, which then went into error ? and still, he just stood there stacking shelves, ignoring the growing queue. No help, no interest, no basic decency. It?s an absolute joke. One till, no support, and a complete lack of care. I walked out and won?t be returning.

Shocking customer service - staff member was too busy putting out stock to serve an old lady who didn't know how to use the self service till then the self service till was on red so she was needed and still carried on putting out stock with a massive queue. Walked out and won't be back - she refused to serve anybody until she had finished. 9th June 2025 at 0800

Visited 16/02/2023 and the cashier I believe was the manager. Instead of giving good customer service she opted to be stroppy slamming her hand down on surfaces and just unpleasant to speak to in her tone. Her colleague was across the room and she told him quite sternly "come over and serve I've got things to do"... I don't care about your books, you need to be decent to staff and customers as respect goes a long way. Please do better next time! - - - The shop overall has much to choose from but fits in the more expensive category however it is within a train station.

Always a great pit stop when I'm travelling. Staff are nice and friendly.

Friendly helpful staff and a good selection of stuff. The shop's wheelchair accessible (level access and aisles wide enough to accommodate a wheelchair, though sadly the doors aren't automatic, but they aren't too heavy and the staff are very helpful and will open the doors for you). Open from really early (6am) which is helpful too.

This review is for Coffee House, the coffee kiosk at WHSmith in Hull Paragon station for which there is no Google entry at present. This kiosk is very new, and the staff are just getting used to their routines. They made me a delicious coffee though, and I appreciated the small selection of snacks on the counter. I got a Graze nut pack, but there were fresh pastries there too. The experience was a little bit slow and I was faced with perplexed faces when I asked for a dash of soya milk in my Americano - they have soya milk but were unused to the idea of anyone wanting to add milk to an Americano and had no obvious way to charge for it. I look forward to using this kiosk again when they are up to speed, and to getting another loyalty stamp.
