I recommend this bank because staff are very nice and polite. Yesterday I opened my account by Gather or geather (little confusion about spelling) he brief me each step. Very positive and professional attitude. So I recommend this bank

I do not recommend it, no help from the branch staff, no help from the hotline my brother sent me money from outside the UK, the hsbc bank accepted the transfer but did not transfer it to my account or return it to the senderdespite repeated attempts by the bank from which the money was sent the employee admitted that the money was in hsbc but they couldn't trace it where it went the branch told me to call customer service, telephone customer service says to go to the bankI haven't been able to get my £800 back for 3 months I've had an account there for 10 years and this will be the last yearthe matter was reported to the Citizens' Advice

went to the bank today to be told its shut for a month and to go to Beverley, I think it will be easier to put my money in a bank that has representation in the major city I live in, incredibly poor customer service

Closed at short notice with sign saying closed until 25 Sept for refurbishment and nearest branch in Beverley!!. Cash machines all covered up. What a service for people who don't do online banking ..........I do but imagine many people have been caught out by this. Disgusting customer service.

Went in today to ask about travel abroad and not only did they advise of a free service, got a person to sit down with me and walk me through the process stage by stage and it went really well. Fantastic set of staff who seem all positive in making sure I felt safe for mobile banking and also how to use my new account whilst abroad. Really fantastic service. Really appreciate their help

Been there a few times lately, enquired for bank account opening process.Staffs are helpful, but feel not pleasant with their cold long face.The last set of persons who helped me couldn't even bother to have eye contact.Few weeks passed, bank account not yet ready, without choice the cash goes to Lloyds Bank.

There is a really rude staff her name Kara, absolutely not professional as I complained twice to the bank but unfortunately there were no response action from them , I will change all my family and relatives bank accounts from HSBC as this is a shame and disgrace for the bank ????????

went on a Saturday, understaffed and one long queue with only one staff serving a heavily pregnant woman with glasses. she was nice and polite but said i cant set up a standing order to a business. i had to contact customer services and record a complaint and had compensation for incorrect advice given in branch.

HSBC's call centre and appointments system is an absolute nightmare of inefficiency and frustration - but my experience with the staff in the Hull branch has been excellent. Very friendly, knowledgeable and efficient, and have helped me sort out an account opening where another branch, the website and the call centre have all failed. Hope this branch remains around.
