“I’ve used this branch for my last 2 eye examinations. Last time, 2 years ago, was fine. No major issues, though I did sense a feeling of disappointment from the member of sales staff when I said I wasn’t looking to buy new glasses that day.This time, today, I have to say things have changed for the better. I was straight in with minimal fuss, all 4 staff members I spoke to were very polite and really professional. Joanne did my eye exam and she was absolutely top-notch. She explained everything she was doing and why, was thorough and made me feel completely at ease.At the end of the exam, my prescription having not changed, Joanne preemptively asked if I was satisfied with the glasses I have. I said I was and there was no attempt from the sales staff whatsoever to fit me up with a new pair. The clear decision of Specsavers, or at least this branch, to not use pushy sales techniques in order to pressure customers into buying glasses they may not particularly want, is so refreshing and takes the dread out of this type of experience. Well done, Specsavers Hessle! Joanne and the chap that took payment courteously provided a receipt, knowing I have some health insurance through work.I wouldn’t say I’ve ever had a negative experience at the optician’s but this was definitely the best. I will be back.”
