I?ve generally received a good friendly service from the store at Driffield. 1845 Friday 29/8 and all that changed. Rude, thoughtless and ignorant staff member at the self-service checkouts who when I was requesting assistance with a security tagged bottle of alcohol blurted out ?when you?ve paid for it !? in earshot of all those in the area. It could?ve been construed by anyone listening that I was gonna do a runner. She could?ve taken the 2 or 3 steps to me and explained how their system, not my system, works. I thought that perhaps I was being over-sensitive but apparently not, her attitude towards me during the whole episode was snotty and unhelpful to say the least. Maybe it was a bad day for her, but you don?t talk to customers the way she did. Or perhaps, more realistically, she?s just in the wrong job. I can?t wait for the Aldi store to be built.

Useless and unhelpful staff, don?t do cash back. Was told they do it at the smoking counter and they do not.

The worst Tesco in England! Site not fit for purpose, the quality of products poor, this is more then likely how it?s stored before it goes on the shelves, e.g. bacon that is put out semi frozen left to defrost, yet when you come to buy it, it?s still alright for home freezing!! But my worst complaint has to be about a number of staff members how manly work in the mornings to early afternoons who spend more time gossiping with friends and colleagues rather than helping shoppers and doing there job! Especially at the self checkout. God forbid if you have to call for assistance after waiting for a while and interrupt them, they look at you and come over like you?ve just called them every name under the sun, muttering under their breath making it feel like there going out of there way, doing you a favour! I?ve even heard other customers say ?sorry to have disturbed you?!
So that?s Driffield Tesco, the worst in England.

I had three ladies this morning (03/06/2025) be so helpful to me and my son. My son has unfortunately had an injury to his finger and had surgery, I needed some medical tape and had tried three other shops. These ladies helped me look and I felt they were truly going above and beyond. They managed to find me the tape I needed for his dressing on his finger and I can?t thank them enough for their help, it was much needed ?

I do think these stores should offer toilet facilities, not just tesco, all of a certain size, cafe or not. Nice large car park.

Some staff really nice. Decent guy works normaly near the self checkout makes an effort nice bloke. And my old teacher from about 35 years ago shes a lovely women and was a great dinner lady. Kind of shows the type of person lovely

Shop is fine has everything you would need for small shops then main annoying thing is the self checkouts that don't scan half the time. Despite trying a number of different angles.
This is the only Tesco I have been to where I feel like actually going to a cashier due to the awful self service.
