Went for a ?dinner? with a local shoot. Huge disappointment, over priced for what was served. The food came out cold and under cooked, if cooked at all. The wait staff seemed clueless and never asked if the meal was okay but I presume they knew what the standard of it already was. Will be lucky if no one goes home ill from this. The manor itself requires a lot of work and is definitely a hazard to health! Had to use a fire exit round the side of the building, in the dark, no lights and had a dodgy step, once told about it they shut it off and we used the main entrance where the ceiling was caving in due to a leak where they had vases in the ground to catch water! I?d like to say they should contact the shoot and offer some type of refund as there was no quality or value to anything, extremely disappointing.Safety: Hazard to healthBuilding should be deemed unsafe.Food & drinks: Came out cold and uncooked. Nothing was home cooked, had to of come out of a freezer and shoved in a microwave.

Came for afternoon tea, which was great. Good selection of sandwiches, savouries, scones and cakes. All were tasty and enjoyed with plenty of tea. Lovely location with a cosy warm fire in the dining area, Wood panelling and tasteful decoration. Service was excellent and efficient.

Once you manage to get up the pot hole ridden driveway you come to a run down old house, the reception was out of use and we were sent to a side door. The room we ate in needed a complete make over, and the outside grounds as well, our view was of tables and chair upturned thrown around the lawn. The food, afternoon tea, was a disgrace, all the sandwiches were stale, the scone was stale and the sausage rolls were the frozen ones you buy from any supermarket. We had to ask for drinks as they forgot them. There were plenty of people there when we arrived. However, they soon left, and they also left most of their food. Tables were just left full of their pots and not cleaned down. It's a real shame as the property could be lovely, but it needs an awful lot of work to bring it up to scratch. I would not return or recommend

I took my mum here for mother's day afternoon tea and it was just lovely. The food was delicious and there was so much that we had to box some up to take home. The staff were amazing, so attentive and genuinely warm and friendly. I highly recommend this place for a relaxing meal in lovely surroundings.

Just been here for mother's day afternoon tea, what a disappointment for the price, sandwiches totally dried out and curled at the edges, party sausage roll from Iceland I would say, quiche flan was disgusting, scones inedible knife wouldn't go through it.the teapot was disgusting very dirty ,the entrance to the place tells a story before you even enter, very rough I thought itwas a staff door buckets in the hallway leaking ceilings I suggest these people should close and get these issues in order, wouldn't recommend this dump that's supposed to be a high end establishment ruined my day I was looking forward too.

Went here for Sunday lunch a couple of weeks ago expecting a "home cooked" meal having dined there previously. What we got was a frozen/prepackaged meal extravaganza for £22 a head for 2 courses. French onion soup I believe was from a can. Nice but not what we expected. I ordered the beef and husband ordered the chicken. The beef was some prepackaged cut meat in gravy. Roast potatoes were those frozen ones. Mash was nice but again I think it was frozen along with the veg.We won't be going back. Love Rowley Manor and its location but was bitterly disappointed.Food & drinks: Prepackaged frozen food which you would expect from a chain pub ... no offence to chain pubs you know what you are getting

We went for a meal only. Be careful as you approach the front door - it was dark and no light to see your way up the steps. Just through the door we were greeted by a leaking roof and drip bucket. We found our way to reception and we were shown to the bar area. There was a small yet over priced selection of drinks and tattered decor. We were the first to arrive for the evening. Our order was taken. Two other couples arrived. Their orders were taken... then they were shown to their tables... then us.I visited the rest room. It was unclean and smelt offensive. My wife and I both had the chicken and leak pie. I am not a particularly fussy eater, however, I could not taste it. It was the blandest meal I have ever eaten and chicken should not be boiled in a pie. There was no pastry. It was topped with mash potato... with a side of mash potato and a few boiled veg. Don't get me wrong, it was not inedible, just tasteless. To top it off there was no salt in the shaker (I don't normally have salt but thought it may give it some taste). We shared a cheeseboard for dessert. Every biscuit/cracker was soft. I think the cheese was a Christmas novelty selection from a supermarket. The waiter came to clear up, tried to carry too much and dropped it. The other server did not turn their loud ring tone off after the first interuption. This happened three times. He did apologise though. The service overall came across as though from staff that had no training or experience and were guessing at it, and, I assume this is the same for the chef/cook/dinner lady in the back.As we waited for our coats another diner was waiting for the staff. Staff took a while so my wife asked if she was ok. She was unable to go to the ladies toilet as the inner door was stuck. My wife struggled but got it open for her (perhaps the door was swollen from the damp). There's more and I cannot understand how this place has a 4.3 star rating (at time of writing), however, I think I've already put more effort into this review than was put into the meal.Overall £60 for poor food, a small cider, two non-alcoholic drinks, poor service, and in a building that really should be condemned.

As seems to be appearing in other reviews, this place has massively gone down hill.Unfortunately it seems the current owners are there for a quick buck.Building I'm told is unsafe and has been reported to the coucil for the roof having the potential to cave it.Food and drink is massively over priced and wait staff don't seem to have a clue what they are doing.Building and surrounding land could be beautiful in the right hands. Also heard in the village that the staff are not treat well and have walked out due to not being paid.I would steer well clear, unfortunately.

Can?t comment on rooms as it?s been some time but ate there today and couldn?t fault it. Looks as though the place is in need of some attention which is sad to see.Food & drinks: Faultless although would have preferred larger portions.

Where do I start. Thick dust on top of furniture, squashed bugs on all blinds in room where blinds have been rolled up, tap was leaking out of top of tap when shower was on, cant get shower to a good temp just hot or cold and pressure was terrible, bottom of bathroom blind had mould growing, bodily fluid stains on bed runner which I can't mention (see pics) dirt inside kettle. Downstairs now. Toilet seat not attached in men's toilets, cobwebs and dead spiders in women's toilets, damage to most ceilings and leaking water, stains on curtains in breakfast room. We were told to move out of bar as builders came in and took the ceiling down, we had to go and find someone every time we wanted a drink. Breakfast next. Bacon was half fat and undercooked, tomatoes where stone cold (hadn't even been warmed up), no mushrooms even though it states it comes with mushrooms, toast came out 25 minutes before the breakfast and was cold when it came out, took 30 minutes for the breakfast to arrive even though there was only 3 tables to serve, sat and waited to complain about the breakfast for 15 minutes but no body came. One thing I will say is the evening meal was absolutely amazing and Julie is fantastic, she was amazing all night and is an absolute credit to your hotel. Views are stunning and this hotel has so much potential but unfortunately at this time it's a no go for me. I would appreciate if the hotel contacted me for a partial refund.Rooms: Terrible, really need better cleaners and to update the rooms (bed was nearly falling apart)Safety: Ceiling falling down and leaking.Food & drinks: Food was amazing. Had to find a member of staff everytime we wanted a drink.
