Beautiful old church, some of the best stained glass we have ever seen. We were made to feel very welcome, one of the volunteers introduced themselves, gave us a brief history of the church and a useful leaflet. Serving teas and coffees when we visited. Free parking near the church or there's a free car park in Old Bridlington. Worth a visit.

A beautiful church situated in Bridlington town. It has signs around the ground to inform you on the history of the building too

Had a lovely visit to the Priory today (13th June) We were greeted by a lovely Chap called Brian. He was so knowledgeable and friendly. He even took us on a tour outside to see the little stone carved heads of our new King and Queen.Thank you. We then went to the Bayle museum also lovely helpful people to guide you round. Well worth a visit and all free.

Although I?m a regular visitor to Bridlington this is the first time that I?ve ventured up to the Old Town and visited the Priory. It is well worth a visit, with lots to see from beautiful stained glass to Memorials to the fallen men of Bridlington in WW1 to a crafted timeline of the Priory created by local ladies. There is also a small gift shop on site.It was lovely to meet some of the very knowledgeable guides and also to be able to take a few photos. If you love History this is well worth a visit.

We visited when the church was closed so only got to see the outside but it was worth the visit. It's a huge, beautiful building with some lovely architectural features. I'm looking forward to seeing the inside on a future trip.

Lovely church. History is well explained by the information on display and by volunteers. Stunning interior with impressive stained glass windows and impressive architecture inside and out.

Amazing place. Beautiful grounds. Great discussion wirh the volunteers. It would have been even better if we could have visited the Gatehouse. But definitely worth the visit.

What an amazing place! Steeped in history, oozing character and supported by some seriously knowledgeable and friendly volunteers. Alan is an absolute gentleman and his love for this church, its parish and his town is obvious. I'll be sure to return to hear the organ one day!

Grade 1 listed building. Formerly the site of a Saxon church and nunnery, the priory was founded circa 1113. If you are a fan of Robert Thompson, there is a mouse trail you can follow, as Bridlington Priory has 18 of his meeces carved into his creations. There are some stunning appliqué screens, telling the history of the priory. The skill and craftsmanship, never mind the hours and dedication, that have gone into designing and making these wonderful textile pieces is amazing. Wonderful work. There are some great gargoyles and other masonry carvings. The priory is set in lovely grounds, which include five trees from the Queen's Commonwealth Canopy and a lavender maze. Well worth a visit.

Wanted to visit this priory over the past two years but due to blovid was unable to do so.This year it's open to visitors. So we walked in through the open door and was greeted by a lovely man who told us that the priory was closed due to a funeral. My heart dropped thinking another year not being able to visit this magnificent priory. But the lovely man could not of been more accommodating, he said you have a good hour to look around, told us a bit of history about the place and if we had any questions don't hesitate to ask.Well worth a visit even if it's a chat with the lovely man

On a chance visit, we were welcomed into the church by a couple of very friendly and knowledgable lady volunteers, who were happy to chat and answered all of our questions. It is an amazing, large parish church. Originally an Augustinian priory, until dissolved by Henry VIII's vandals, they did at least leave the nave untouched to serve the local population. There is a wonderful, high wooden ceiling, some beautiful stained glass windows and lots of elaborate memorials on the walls.Bridlington must have grown a lot between 1918 and 1939 - it is the only place I have been where there are very nearly as many names on the 1939 - 45 memorial as on that for 1914 - 18.
