We bought a jacket for my husband in Edinburgh from an extremely pushy sales woman who quite obviously was only bothered about the sale. It was too big. We tried to change it at a local Barbour outlet at Greenlands Village in Carnforth but they we're having none of it. Why on earth can't we return a barbour jacket locally? It can't be that difficult !!
So we drove from Lancaster to Beverly to change it. We were expecting to be disappointed but the 'extremely dapper chap' (if I'm OK to say that) was absolutely brilliant. There was no fuss and I can't praise him enough for sorting out ( although he probably thought we were bonkers driving for 3 hours but our daughter lives in Barton) He deserves a raise ?

Before you buy a Barbour jacket I suggest you look at photographs of what mine looks like after only three years of winter walks with my dog. Falling to bits. My 35 year old Barbour jacket is still in perfect condition. Are these new jackets made in China now? Barbour used to be a sign of quality - not any more.

Barry Shillito. I bought Ashby xl slim fit, I used it 4 times, I found I couldn't add a warm liner inside, its just like brand new I asked to return for a larger size, I was told they would give me £50 for it in exchange for a different one. Will not use again

Brilliant shop. Clothing is set out really well, which makes shopping there a pleasure. Howard, the manager, was spot on. Nothing was too much trouble for him, and he was happy to go the extra mile to make sure we were happy.
