the grounds are beautiful, the play area is lovely but could do with some swings and something else going on. we paid £79 for 1 adult, a 4, 8 and 10 year old. I feel the price is quite steep and especially with the summer holidays, maybe a better price as it's certainly a costly time at the moment. the cafe was nice with good options. usually I take sandwiches but I am away from home and wasn't organised enough in this day. cafe seemed reasonable prices. I think in all I probably spent £145. the castle was probably the favourite bit and all enjoyed that. probably wouldn't come back as it's just too expensive but worth going to if in the area.

we took some friends to see christmas in the entrance hall. we were worried about their mobility and actually getting them to the castle. my husband spoke to a member of staff and explained. we were then allowed to drive right up to the castle and park the cars outside so they didn't have to walk through the gardens and deer park. absolutely amazing service

We attended the Fireside stories with Santa event yesterday with our 3-year-old and had such a lovely time! The event was so well organised, Santa was so friendly and engaging with the children and the gift she received was really good quality and age-appropriate. The room was decorated beautifully, and there was plenty of time for photos without at all feeling rushed. There was a good amount of people in attendance... sometimes you feel that organisers have tried to cram as many people in as possible but this wasn't the case at all. The children all seemed to have a lovely time and the story and songs kept them engaged the whole way through. Fantastic event and I'd definitely recommend it to friends and family. Well done, Raby Castle!

Really lovely place and nice, helpful staff but very very expensive. Not sure if we were over charged but we payed £7.55 for a teapot for 2 which is insane.

This is a lovely place to visit, we brought our kids here to walk around the ground, see the Deer Park and the adventure playgrond. They thoroughly enjoyed themselves!Wheelchair accessibility: Access to ground floor of the castle. I cannot walk up stairs so we didn't end up going in the house. Unable to get E-wheelchair in.

Stopped for lunch in the cozy yurt on the way to Newcastle. Soup and sausage rolls were delicious. Staff were lovely. Clean and welcoming. Will definitely be using as a pitstop again.

The castle closes for winter at the end of October. The yurt cafe is OK

It was full of wasps when we went, but that wasn't influential on this review, we spent an arm and a leg on a couple of coffees and sausage sandwiches with sausages that were clearly left to sit in a hotplate, dry with tough skin. Probably the most expensive place I've eaten in a long time for below average food.Don't be fooled, it's just a tent rammed with as many tables and chairs as physically possible and no real kitchen. I don't know how they've managed to glorify this yurt, but they've only put it there because they're doing work on the stables. It's the equivalent of someone closing a decent restaurant to do some work on it and opening a breakfast van outside, but with the spin if putting it inside a tent.I should add, most of these high rating reviews are about the castle and not so much about the cafe.

Superb coffee, Nata tarts and friendly service, sitting outside with a tremendous view of Raby Castle.
