Went there today 19/12/2023 to donate a lot of good quality clothing, mens suit on a hanger lots of ladies clothing, just taken from me and shoved unceremoniously into large basket, no 'thanks for donation' said, made to feel as if they were doing me a favour taking things from me, will definitely get nothing else from me again.

Loads of options and choices if you're into charity shops

Today I visited what used to be my favourite charity shop, one time id go two / three times a week. But today I experienced absolutely appalling customer service, the way this charity shop is being ran something definitely needs to be addressed.I used to spend well over £100 in the shop every single week, but today I was finding it really hard to find one item! really everything is very low quality not suitable to wear really, and the prices omg are so extreme! more than the retail price brand new! However after not wanting to leave empty handed I found myself 2 items. After standing in line for 10 minutes I was rudely told sorry you can't have these they have been wrongly priced, I replied oh really, okay I will just take these, he looks at my second item and said sorry you can't have these either, same reason. Well if this is the service you get trying to help a charity.. I certainly do feel sorry for this one.I will never return to this shop again

Went in to enquire about buying a cabinet in the window. They wouldn't sell it because "it takes so long to set the window display up, we don't sell anything in the window for a few months". Asked to pay in full and collect when they are ready. No. Offered to pay more than the asking price. No. Apparently the window display is more important than making money for the charity. Will not return. Do not recommend.

Books have shot up in price and now a lot more expensive than other charity shops in the area.

I used to absolutely love this store and spent a lot of money in it and supported it over the years; visited daily pretty much since it first opened but it really isn't what it used to be.The store staff are fab and always friendly and helpful I really couldn't fault them, you'll always get good service with a smile. But the quality of the items put out is poor in comparison to what it used to be, many items are damaged, unchecked or without clear pricing and very often they are way! way! overpriced which is one of the main reasons I rarely visit now, there's a lot of tat and overpriced tat at that.I visit a lot of charity stores across the North East and Scotland and this has become by far one of the most expensive, there appears to be a move towards a more boutique type of store with boutique type pricing which in honesty when looking at some of the items and the quality of them feels actually quite greedy which is why I stopped donating items here too.Teesside has a lot of good charity shops with fair pricing so if you're looking for homewares like furniture, electricals, beds etc I'd probably avoid this store, you'll get more for your money elsewhere, central Middlesbrough has a wealth of charity shops where you'll get better deals. Marton road is great for cheap furniture and also Newport road heading into Middlesbrough has a lot of charity shops with furniture & homewares, Darlington too if you're willing to travel a little.Daisychain does have some cheap clothing, DVD's, books & games but always check them as often DVD's / Records are scratched, clothes will have marks or holes in them so obviously not thoroughly checked, a lot of the board games are taped together which ruins the outer covers and means you can't check them in store to see if they are complete & often they aren't. A majority of the good stock they now just sell online so you typically only find what's left after they've picked out all the better stock, honestly not sure the physical store will survive in the long term. Sadly!Edit: Feedback is not taken seriously as many of the reviews state the same issues from over a year ago remain...

Very, very nice staff in the cafe. Can't really comment on the shop as I wasn't in there that long.

I used to love this store. It was more organised and prices were clear on items. Now, before people come at me I am just stating that I do think prices on a lot of clothing items that are new are extortionate. Yes, I understand its charity but the prices are more than the suppliers. £25 for a dress from New Look. Really????Next vent is about the cafe. You used to do amazing bacon sandwiches, fresh might I add, now they are in a fridge and microwaved. Come on, for the price aswell? Diabolical.

Massive charity shop but the book section is a total disgrace. It looks like the books have been fired at the shelves using a giant catapult and they just landed in a total random order.Katie Price books next to Dickens, Hairy Bikers next to the Hungry Caterpillar, SAS next to DIY, Colleen Rooney books next to computer programming. Mentioned it to a member of staff who said the ?book man? has been off work for 2 weeks, however this section has been like this for as long as I can remember. They don?t mix the kids toys with the kitchen knifes or the shoes with the plates so come on guys make an effort! It would literally (pun intended) take a few hours to sort out and few minutes a day to maintain - come on you are better than this!

We used to take our group of special needs students to the cafe here regularly before covid. It was what you would expect from a charity coffee shop. Lots of choice and budget prices, lovely friendly staff and often busy.We went back for the first time in a long time today and sadly we won't be going back. Its smart and clean and the staff were fine, but choice is very poor and the prices are shocking. They no longer have cheap carton drinks or copy fruit shoot bottles, just small cartons for £1 a go or more expensive bottles, the crisps are expensive, and a small scone cost £3, and definitely trying to be upmarket they are now served on a slate with little teeny jars of cream etc instead of a side plate. Not really priced for the people charity shops are a godsend for, we can no longer afford to go with our students and I can now see why it's often empty or very quiet. Such a shame.

Best charity shop around. Great items, most of which are only one pound!! Staff are great. But most of all it goes to an amazing cause!
