The branch were able to fit me in at short notice after Redcar could not and I had an emergency concern regarding my vision. The branches arranged the appointment between them and all I had to do was turn up on time. The staff greeting was first class, the branch clean and well organised and the staff helpful and friendly. Instructions were clear and concise, waiting times acceptable and well communicated, and medical areas clean and well kept. The optician was excellent in her explanations, answering questions and reassuring me, the helpful instructions of what would happen and when helped settle the nerves and the examination was thorough. After care service handled by a different member of staff was also of a high standard, very impressed.

I had broken my glasses which I bought from asda ( six days ago ) I asked Asda to repair them but they refused because they said it was my fault. I was desperate to get these repaired as they're my only pair so I went into Boots and spoke to Andrea and explained how desperate I was to get them repaired and she explained that they weren't meant to repair glasses from elsewhere but she realised how desperate I was so she had a word with her Co worker Chris who said he would try to repair them but they wouldn't be liable if anything was to happen with them. I agreed to this and was happy that they were attempting to repair them for me. Both Chris and Andrea then went away and repaired them for me doing a great job. I offered to pay for their service which they refused and I would like to point out how grateful I am to them and their customer service goes above and beyond. Mr innes Deignon

I was concerned about my Glucoma Pressures and Malcolm ( managing the desk ) was caring enough to understand my distress and get me an appointment quickly as somebody had failed to attend for their appointment. . The optician Salma who was allocated to see me was efficient,knowledgeable thorough .caring and kind and very reassuring.

The staff here are great and so helpfull. Always have smiles on their faces . I bring my children here one of them every 6 months. They are so child friendly. We used to use another high street shop a few years ago who were really abrupt with my children. Best decision moving to boots. I accidentally missed my appointment yesterday and they made my son a new one later that day which was brilliant. Highly recommended .

From walking in to walking out the staff made the whole process a joy, Amy was very polite & professional & even brought a 2nd chair for my wife before sitting down herself. Everything was explained in detail before every exam, she even explained why the different tests were being carried out.

Eye test and assessment were fine, however the fact it will cost me more to have the lenses fitted in my existing frames than buy new ones is quite ridiculous not to mention environmentally wasteful. As a result I will not be buying the new glasses from Boots. As a responsible corporation Boots should re-consider this policy.

My experience was generally positive with welcoming and friendly engagement from Boots colleagues. The issue which stopped me giving 5 stars is the fact that, yet again, my records were not up to date. I have now attended this branch 3 times but my records still showed me at Durham or Bishop Auckland. I believe this has now been resolved. I have also been put back onto a 2 year recall. It was not really clear why I had been called in each 3 times on an annual basis.
