Had a meal here last Tuesday , had onion bhaji and then the tarka dhaal. .The onion bhajis were not fresh and hard and the dhaal tasted funny , Not impressed at all

I feel ashoka is better than samrat in food quality, but samrat is cheaper..
Staff at ashoka are great,helpful and friendly..
Unfortunately we were sat at the table near the door so, with customers in and out, it was cold..
Defo recommend out of the 2 indian restaurant's in seaham..

I get currys in every city I go to around the world. It?s always a bit of an excitement and anxiousness about if you are going to get the best or just pay for disappointment. Well, I have a favourite curry restaurant in the city I live that is unbeatable, but I was sat eating deciding if this is my number one curry I?ve ever had. So delicious. Staff were awesome and the environment was nice. In Seaham? Want a beautiful meal? Just go here
Vegetarian options: Please be sure about your spice. The wait staff may not ask and you may make assumptions or recommendations but don?t feel bad and it?s not rude to make sure your spice is right so you can enjoy the meal.

Everything was great, the food and the staff were lovely,slight negatives,it's a little overpriced and a portion of chips is about 12 chips for over £3, definitely be back again

Best indion reastaurant by far in Sunderland, full of flavour, fantastic service and lovely friendly staff ,would highly recommend this reastaurant 5* quality food.

Most definitely will not be returning here for a meal, great service but shocking food. Prawn dish was burnt to taste and the prawns were like rubber. The other dish was called a madras chicken curry but I didn't recognise it at all, just a bland watery dish. Gave the propierter some feedback but was just asked me if I had asked to change the dishes, no offer of a reduction of price.

Just had an excellent meal at Ashoka. Food was delicious, service was brilliant and a great venue. Clean and welcoming. Prices are good too. Lots of choice. Definitely be going back again. Highly recommend this restaurant.

A very welcoming reception and even though some of our party were delayed, the staff seemed at ease with our need to delay ordering. Expertly taken orders and food arrived hot and was excellent. I had never eaten an Indian meal before but thus was excellent and I will definitely go again. Very much recommend.

Fantastic food every time and the service is best ever. I started with lamb's liver, now as a cook myself I know how hard it is to cook liver perfect, but to do it in a tandoor is magic. I would Defo recommend this place.

Fantastic food, highly recommend. Had lamb chops and chicken starter followed by a chefs recommendation mixed meat heriari, very tasty indeed
